Re: The post man's been ...

A nice 1/4 zip l/s Isobaa merino top from Sport Pursuit. Looks to be good quality on first inspection. And a 60mm stem very kindly donated by Phil of this Parish. And two sets of sintered Avid Juicy BB7 pads off fleabay for a bargain price.

Re: Never legal to wildcamp on Dartmoor?

F I_I C K the law (and forum rules) Ooh, you're very naughty. I keep reading stuff ont' internet with people using the word 'illegal', my understanding is that after today, Dartmoor is on the same footing as the rest of England / Wales which means wildcamping is a civil rather than criminal act and...

Re: Never legal to wildcamp on Dartmoor?

We live in a country run by w*nkers, for w*nkers... BB spring bivvy in Dartmoor anyone? Yon twally turns up to chuck us off. We reply "GTF" - he phones Police, they say "we'll assign it a priority to enforce commensurate with it's impacts" i.e. zero. Stooshie ensues but we are l...

Isobaa merino at sport persuit 50% off. No idea on the quality but just picked up a l/s top for 35 quid, about one third of the equivalent Smartwool.

I've found fabsil gold to be pretty good. Rubble sacks from screwfix make very durable pack liners rather than faffing with individual dry bags.

Re: Neoair users

If you can be bothered to carry the punp sack its worth it. My Xlite has lots of black mould inside visible through the yellow material. Probably not detremental to the durability or R-value but when inflating it by mouth when its getting close to full there is always that bit of blowback and it doe...

Re: How to.... Take your bike on a plane

In and out of the US has been mostly ok but TSA do love to open boxes and mess things up. The biggest issue I can recall...getting a hold of my bike box in Seattle ex Manchester...with many holes from forks and cranks (tie them to the frame tightly!)...anything fluid in toolkit missing but skeletoo...

Re: How to.... Take your bike on a plane

I think we are misunderstanding one another. The key word in that sentence is "and" - "Stoves that have been used or are new and have their fuel attached". A typical modern gas stove burner is simply a lump of metal that attaches to the cylinder, the fuel is so volatile that jus...

Be careful not to pack CO2 I've often seen this repeated but it would appear to be a myth. According to the Civil Aviation Authority they are allowed in checked, carry-on, and on the person but need airline approval. They do appear to by banned by the TSA in the USA though. https://www.caa.co.uk/pa...

KAW to Winchester. Winchester to Southampton ( bit of a main road blast but not too bad) across the water and into the New Forest, Bournemouth, Purbeck, bit of Dorset Ridgeway or pick up the Old Chalk Way to Lyme Regis, East Devon Trail to Exeter and cut across to the Westcountry Way ( or even ride ...

All the usual things, pedals off, bars turned ( or even off if wide flat bars) front wheel off. Deflate tyres if using tubes. If tubeless just let them down to a bit lower than the lowest you would ride them on. Its a BS rule and it doesn't say deflate completely :) I've only used Turkish Airlines. ...

Wanted. 60 x 31.8 stem

Looking for a cheap 60mm x 31.8mm stem, straight or +/- single digit degrees. I'm trying to play around with my riding position and not looking to spend much before finding the right length. Anyone got anything loitering in the bottom of their spares box?

Re: North York(shire) Moors 300

Hey peeps. Stu here. Managed to get a route sorted. It's a belter if I say so myself. 306km so I need to scrub off a few but what's 6km amongst friends? 660 meters of climbing so a tad testing. Same format as the YD300. Breakfast spread Saturday morning and some hot food is waiting for you when you...
