Take your front axle out, that'll stop anyone riding away on it & also difficult to push away. Costs nothing! Add a small cable lock to secure it to something if needed. This is a good idea. :-bd Can someone start a "What 6mm allen key?" thread pls? Apart from having to find somewhere...

I'll add that you may find it's ultimately far cheaper to buy a full bike for more rather than a cheaper bike with the intention of upgrading it with forks, drivetrain etc. This was my first thought. Given the state of the supply chain at the minute I'd get a full build with stantdard, erm, standar...

Given how untrustworthy this lot are I suspect the main aim of the change is related to this paragraph from that piece: As well as repealing the 2026 cut-off the government plans to introduce a "right to apply" for landowners to divert or extinguish rights of way in certain circumstances....

Way of the Roses is pleasant but is mostly on roads, including a couple of stretches of main road which I know some people aren't keen on.

What are your logistics plans wrt to travel at either end and bike bags/boxes etc chaps? I was thinking of flying into and out of Rome and doing a train to Pompei and then back from Rovereto. Gives the otion of leaving a bike box at left luggage in Rome, plus miles more options for flights...
