Re: Something for the coffee snobs.
Can't you simply put a bolt through it Bob? I was wondering if I could somehow rivit it back on, literally hadn't thought about sticking a bolt through it... 🤦 Off to the hardware shop then, as I don't think I have any thin enough, or long enough. Will also save me spunking £150 on an Aergrind too....

Noooooooooo! £14 for a replacement handle... You snooze, you loose... Didn't bother getting a replacement handle at the time, they're now £20 and wont arrive till next month, I need it for next week. Looks like Porlex have also changed the interface and it's now a slot, so places like HasBean don't...

Re: Advice sought building a gravel bike.
I'm running an aftermarket Garbaruk setup on my Shimano GRX equipped gravel bike. I currently have a 1x11 setup up, with a 38T chainring and a 11 - 50T cassette. That setup served me well on the WRT, but is totally overkill for the flat lands of the East; I'm looking at getting a 44T or 46T chainrin...

If you use the search bar on their site, with: josies rawland drakkar , it'll turn up the correct page. If you try and link to it, as below, it doesn't work. I suspect it's there in the database, but they've tried to remove it for some reason... Reader’s bicycle: Josie’s Rawland Drakkar While the im...

Re: What you done t' your bike today
Glad your safe Bob. Years ago (similar looking bottle as yours but maybe I used more Gorilla tape) when I made my bottle I used to always wear safety specs when doing the tubeless stuff. I just put tape around the middle, quite a lot too, as I figured the rounded bits would be fine. 🤷 Ouch Boab. I ...

If you use RideWithGPS you can set the base map to OSM Cycle. This will show most of the Sustran's cycle network, plus other cycle routes.

Re: How much tech do we actually need?
I was at Eurobike this week Did you see the mental ebike / snow mobile conversion thing...? With the track at the back, ski at the front? Pedelec skidoo, just what I didn't need :) That was the one! Was going to post in the New gear out thread, but couldn't find a decent photo. Bonkers. https://www...

After my puncture on this morning ride, I set about getting the rear tyre back up tubeless. After giving the inside and edges a bit of a clean, I stared on getting the beads set. 120 psi into the home-made inflater, and as I reached down to take the mole grips off, the bottle exploded. Nearly 💩 myse...

Re: Todays ride
Off out early this morning to beat the heat. Was gorgeous, even stopped for a espresso at Maglia Rosso on the way passed. https://media.bobarnott.com/gravel/2022-07-16-vineyard.jpeg On one of the last byway sections, I felt my rear tyres going soft. With no spray of sealant up the back of the legs, ...

I have a Herman Miller Sayl in the garden office, I find it very comfy.
While I did not pay for it, I would certainly look at buying another Herman Miller if the need arose..

This GCN film is on YouTube: https://youtu.be/EPvP-4yXxYk Thanks for posting that, couldn't help but laugh at some of it. The editing was terrible, they showed most of the sections out of order! It made for confusing viewing, as the railway tunnel on NCR6 came before the tree lined avenue, which in...

Re: Gravel porn
More than just a gravel bike, evidently. Met the new Rondo MYLC . The MYLC range redefines what’s rideable with a gravel bike. The new additions to the RONDO family perform exponentially better on gnarly terrain and rugged descents as they take their mojo from mountain bikes – instead of from their ...

Headed out early to test the new XT rear mech and shifter combo. Not today, but yesterday; I forgot to take a photo... Degreased and cleaned my part worn 11-46 XT cassette, then fitted it to the Scandal, along with a XT rear mech and XT rapid fire pod. Oh. My. Word! You barely need to caress the levers before it's slamming you up or down the sprockets. And that d...

I just realised that it's not too far from me (relatively speaking). Please may I ask if this is a gravrl ride and would 32c gravel tirws suffice for it do you think?
