Thread resurrection anyone?? I would really like to get into night riding, "just because", and also for possible future events that run into, or through, the night. Any thoughts, ideas, tips and suggestions, and also any inspiration maybe from those of you who enjoy riding at night, would...

Hand warmer?? You're nesh lads. Get a grip. This is Bear Bones Bikepacking, not The Other Place  . Anyway, what's wrong with just shoving your hands down the front of your bike shorts to warm them like the rest of us? (*) (*) Absolutely nothing of course. However, it's probably inadvisable, a...

Hope you're recovered from the Covid! Interesting to read your post, I have just picked up a copy of The Road after a year of procrastination! Really enjoyed Dervla's Full Tilt and also thought that Deep Country was one of the best "Nature writing" books ever. Great minds! Thanks - covid ...

short piece of tube held in 2 clamps above the main bar.. It's a 20g Co2 cannister for inflating a tubeless tyre if all else fails. I've made an adapter with a short length of rubber hose so once the wheel is removed from the bike, it can be re-inflated without dismantling the garmin mount. I love ...

Many of the Alpkit stores have a repair station in them, they repaired a bikepacking bag for me after a mouse chewed a hole i it and did an excellent job. If you don't have a store near you I'm sure you could post it?

A couple of lengthy train journeys and covid (almost certainly a result of one massively over-crowded train) has given me a bit more time to read recently. https://aeroe.com/ I have no idea if they are any good, but one of the pics shows bags side loaded on the rear. But personally I'd look at two fork mounted bags, see PX, then a frame bag of sorts, stem cells, and a bar bag. I then use a bum bag such as the cheapy decathlon one if I am overflowing. ...

What's the resistance for a rear rack and drybag? I've been using a Tubus Vega with a Decathlon dry bag strapped to the top recentley following the demise of my home-made seatpack harness subframe and not having had time to remake it.
