Re: BB200 2023

I'm a bit annoyed at myself for not embracing being wet and uncomfortable, it would have made for a more enjoyable ride Ha ha, I think the only time any sane person embraces that is when they are sitting comfortably in front of the fire enjoying their favourite tipple and recounting the fact that t...

Re: BB200 2023

What I didn't enjoy: - - the GPS track: possibly an issue with my Garmin but I found it very inaccurate in places, leaving existing trails to go to nothing. That meant that I started to constantly doubt the track especially when there was a lack of established trails and wasted time trying to under...

Great 1st installment Sean, been looking forward to reading about this ride :-bd You're right, there's no let-up riding canals, I sometimes ride the Monmouth & Brecon as a level(ish) route into Brecon Beacons and it's a real arse-acher! Still wondering why you rode all the way to the Kennet &...

I don't think so!

Reading stuff like that just inspires me to make the time to spend a week or so riding and camping 'north of the border' again; it's been too long.

It'll be hard to add to the story with what's been written so far but I'll try to add a few more words if anyone is still interested! We were lucky. We had ideal weather conditions and not a drop of rain all weekend 🌞😎. Kev and myself didn't bother with tarps and despite heavy dews I had very little...

Correct recollection Reg but wrong person! Can't imagine what befuddled your memory, was it the beer or the rich food? Whichever, the victuals and company were of finest quality

Barmouth bridge closure

Taken from a fb post: As preparations continue on replacing the steel sections of our beloved railway bridge, a quick reminder that the bridge is closed to everyone - trains, pedestrians and bikes from Saturday 2 Sept to Friday 24 November 2023. Trains won't be running until at least Monday 4th Dece...

Not listening to as such but I bumped into the drummer from EMF yesterday. Had a good chinwag, he's started collecting vintage drum sets, mostly wood framed and has moved into a place local to me.

There's a number of Boners, generally leaning to the tramp side of things, who seem to be willing to occasionally have Reg along with them... I confess to being one such boner but my motivation for #ridingwithReg is to get all the really wet weather out of the way so that I can enjoy my own rides i...

Re: Not getting out there, wasting time (and my life) instead

I've built two campervans, renovated my flat back in the city and turned it in a successful holiday let business, done huge amounts of DIY at her house to sort rising damp and also built a (admittedly small) commercial brewery I intend to start as a wee business (I have a masters degree in brewing ...
