Re: drilling drop bars handlebars for di2 ....anyone done it
My tourer had the bars drilled by someone for internal brake cables both under the hoods and by the stem. Must have been like that for 10/20/30 years without failing. Having said that I'd not be keen on doing it myself!

Re: Looks interesting, maybe cheaper cassettes on the horizo
The problem with 3D printing, is it's really slow. Fine for making small runs of rocket motors or dropouts for a niche custom Ti frame, not so great if you want to mass produce something like a cassette. Although I'm sure you could make a one off horrifically expensive superlight one! If someone lik...

Re: Insoles
They're the same sort of construction as trainer insoles so they're fine.

If it's not already gone, I'm looking for a vagabond frame, could you send pics to Thisisnotaspoon@yahoo.co.uk

Re: Insoles
I use Specialized off the shelf insoles in my road shoes (high arch version) and some varus/valgus shims under them (by trial and error until they felt right). And the same in my off road shoes without the wedges (didn't seem to need them). My walking boots have some scholl orthaheel sports insoles,...

Re: Not so subtle frame bag
I was thinking of doing a mk2 with little triangular tabs of heavier material sewn into the seams, then pressing in some speedlace hooks on one side, eyelets on the other and some thin bungee to lace between them. Would also double up as somewhere to stash stuff quickly. Got masses of the orange lef...

Not so subtle frame bag
Wanted a new framebag to fit the fatbike and as nothing off the shelf fit and I don't have custom money to spend I thought I'd have a crack. Also, who wants black/olive when you can have fluro orange and purple? Material is 6oz PU coated polyester, zip is a double ended ykk plastic one, ordered the ...

Re: Wtd: Hooped Bivi Bag
Yea, that's pretty much how I use the army bag, and the tarp came from decathlon. I've got that setup or a Gelert Solo which is little more than a bivi in size (my bag gets damp where my feet touch the end). So I was really looking for an option somewhere in between, a waterproof bag with hood/hoop ...

Re: Wtd: Hooped Bivi Bag
Cheers for the tip.
I think I've been spoilt by the army bag, once woke up after a storm with my lower half in a deep puddle but inside the bag was still bone dry. The idea of a 'morning dew' proof bag worries me a bit!

Wtd: Hooped Bivi Bag
Thinking of upgrading from my ex-army bag to something with a hoop and insect mesh. Something along the lines of the O.R. Helium but more like Alpkit Hunka budget?
