, I was wondering if it's possible to be taught the mental resilience or even stubbornness that's often required
Yes, HM Armed forces specialise in this, obviously plenty come with it already as do many who never see a uniform

With hindsight it was a blessing I couldn't take part as my bike at the time was a cx bike. I really did not fully appreciate what I was signing up to

Re: Bivvy a month 2023.

When I was packing up, I discovered that canals do in fact have a little bit of a flow after all.... I The flow is constrained to allow ducks and wildfowl to swim against the current. CRT tried to develop their assets to act as water supply transfers over 20 years ago. The potential Vyrnwy transfer...

Re: What you done t' your bike today

Alex thats a shocking amount of wear for one ride, wet or no
Alex rode it through Strata Florida, the seal would have been under muddy water for extended periods with the fork being active

I'd be checking the brake fluid as well

Re: BB200 2023

What could be worse is Stu sending us on multiple loops of a short course so that the OS green dashed lines actually have a marked route on the ground
I always felt he was contacted by a "lost ways" team that wanted a path to show on the ground where one didn't exist before

My worry is that as it's invite only, and we all know what to expect, Stu will try even harder to exceed our expectations

Re: Recommend me a GPS

Not the mounts you'd use with a Garmin bike gps - 500, 1000 etc. The erred mounts are larger and the device slides in, rather than twists.
You can get a converter on Amazon for use with Garmin mounts, I have one, there was a thread and link on here somewhere

Re: The tyre amnesty thread - please join!

Which tyre was is pls? A pair of rocket Ron's, there were bought on the basis of "they won't last five minutes around here" so my risk, soft sidewalls and my heft mean they can burp a little on the rear and then start to get worse quickly as the sidewalls are very flexy, have a cut right ...

Let me know, depends on condition, price etc pm some photos

I'm still running one of the other tyres you sold me, unfortunately the side walls didn't cope on the rear. What's the side wall like on the chronicles?

Not sure that gets Stuart's approval
I'm sure it will

BB200/300 are not normal events (helps if you get that before Strata Florida in the dark), Other events need to have their own vibe as do Stu's other ones

Looking forward to blue skies and dusty trails.......

Re: Wiggle goes into administration

Islabikes is a real shame, i've not got one yet, but was thinking about it for my eldest. They really have shaped the kids bike market. It's also to their credit that they're winding down the business with no creditors, and will honour warranties. Shame for the staff of all involved of course. Did ...
