Re: Too Early for a YD300 thread?
I've just looked at the route, all the tracks seem fairly rideable so I'm aiming to do it in one go, really want sub 30 hours although my BB200 time end of last year has left me worried!

Re: Too Early for a YD300 thread?
Has anyone received any more info or a newsletter about the YD300 event? I signed up ages ago and haven't got anything apart from my ticket!

I've used a Vango Banshee 200 for years cycle touring, it's been incredibly durable in some horrific conditions. Probably spent 6 months or so under it and it hasn't skipped a beat.

Re: Bloody tight fit
Just had to go through this, just keep working around the rim with your thumbs till it pops, it's not easy. There's usually a slightly easier spot where it wasn't as tight.

Re: 2017 plans
Also just seen the VV explorer thing, looks like it could be a fun one, currently on 10x10 but should easily be able to expand it! Planning on starting Bivvy a month, also have signed up to my first Winter Event, and I'm hoping to make a better route for the WRT (will remember spare brake pads this ...

Any hint on the spread of OS maps needed for the winter event Stuart? Similar to WRT 2016?
Going away for Xmas and would be good to take the right maps to work out a route!

Re: Long term lights: real world reviews
I have had one of these for about 5 years now, and yes i know it can be a tad hit and miss with these but at £15 quid a pop on ebay its worth the risk if you get a good one ! my one has been used for bike packing - winter climbing . now there are a few tweeks that i have done ... i filled the wire ...

just need tubeless rim tape Or any other type of tape. http://www.parts-express.com/Data/Default/Images/Catalog/Original/340-012_HR_0.jpg Buying the proper stuff would be against my ethos! I used '100mph tape' from work, it's a weather resistant tape used in wind tunnel on vehicles, it makes gorill...

Re: Idiots guide to - bikehike to garmin
If its a 'Edge' model, you need to drop the gpx into 'NewFiles'. Once you turn on the Garmin it'll format this files and moved it automatically into the 'Courses' folder.

Taped the rim, added a valve and it inflated perfectly. Rims and tyre are tubeless ready, just need tubeless rim tape.

Well it's now tubeless, never had to wrestle a tyre off like this before, getting it off the head was a nightmare! Holding 30psi with no sealant which is great!

Re: Genesis Longitude 2017
Lighter than I expected it to be! Setting it all up this weekend for tubeless and getting the fit right, seems perfect for bike packing, plenty of space in the frame for a bag, and a decent gap between the bars and front wheel for more stuff.

Best SPD bikepacking shoes
What are people's thoughts on the best SPD shoes for bikepacking? My old cheap pair are feeling their age. Looking for something that's perfect for pushing through tussocks and cow excrement (looking at you BB200 2017!).
