Re: 650b+ / 27.5 plus on a Genesis Fortitude?
A large was spot on for me, just waiting for the cycle to work voucher to come through now! Bit of a disaster getting the fit though, whilst cycling to the shop on Saturday, a car intentionally knocked me off my bike then drove off. Luckily got the plates and witness details! Police seemed to take i...

Re: 650b+ / 27.5 plus on a Genesis Fortitude?
I'm struggling a bit with sizing on the fortitude, I'm not sure if I'm a medium or a large. I'm 6 foot with a 33 inch leg, does anyone have experience with these?
Can't get one into the local store unless I put cash down, but I'm planning on using the cycle to work scheme...

Re: 650b+ / 27.5 plus on a Genesis Fortitude?
Ohhh the 2017 model looks great, been looking for something a bit more BB friendly, my Cube reaction is far too racy and stiff. A nice steel frame will match the Surly LHT. With fatter tyres I have no excuses not to do the winter event  I hope Evans in town stocks them, I'd like to sit on one ...

Re: Vancouver to San Francisco
Scattamah - Will see if I can follow your instructions on a map! Sounds like you know the area pretty well. Cheers for all the info. Rich.mike - Great pictures. Many thanks. Are the ACA maps expensive? It's something I need to look at getting should we decide on taking the ACA route. They're a bit ...

Yep, cycled that route. I used the ACA maps, would you like to borrow them? It took 2.5 weeks to do comfortably, stunning route.

I was in the alps a few weeks ago near Gap and there was a small amount of snow at 2500m. Nothing huge though, just small patches.

If people are planning to cycle through the night, please learn from my experience last year and take a backup light. Cycling the last 60km with an iPhone sellotaped to my bars illuminating the way was NOT fun! That is both amusing and impressive! How on earth did your battery last that long? And w...

Hobnob bars covered in chocolate! That mixed with lots of Haribo star mix. I didn't eat past the 12 hour mark on the last one, wasn't hungry after the fish and chips!

Re: Cycling the worlds highest roads - Kashmir, India
Thanks guys. Sarah - I've always used a CTC bike bag, it's just a thick plastic bag that goes over the bike, it's flown many times and I've never had an issue. Bag makes a great groundsheet as well for camping during tours. No idea whats next, I really want to do a cycle tour on every continent, may...

Cycling the worlds highest roads - Kashmir, India
A month ago I set off unsupported for 2 weeks to cycle the worlds highest mountain passes in Kashmir, India. The ride started at 6500 feet and only got higher from there on. The summits ranged from 13,000 feet to over 18,000 feet but I luckily managed to avoid altitude sickness. This was by far the ...

Re: pre-trip worries?
I always get the panic that I've forgotten something important! For long tours I've made a list now that includes everything to the last time detail. Just try and remember that a passport and credit card will get you out of most trouble!
