Got the full length on a couple of bikes. Seem to keep more mud off than friends who've got shorter guards on their bikes.

Just get medieval on it, big drill to enlarge the hole and bobs yer uncle :-bd you mileage may vary, no responsibility is implied or given to results from reckless advice given in respect to rear light fettling. Use of power tool could and most likely will result in injury and/or death. Bikepacking...

Was working at a school teaching kids to ride at one of the shittier parts of town - think pit village, town dump next door, high unemployment, no expectations for any of the inhabitants and that crap that even the charity shops have closed. We managed to get 8 out of the 12 five year olds riding, p...

Re: What you done t' your bike today

Looking at the above photo it looks like you could remove the bracket and bolt it straight to the rack mount? I have the son rack mount rear, it’s zip tied to my alternator dropout, due to the shape and holes in the dropout plate it fits perfectly, could do with being a little higher though. Proble...

Supernova rear light fitted to the Longitude today. Came with a seatpost clamp which would be fine and dandy if I was not using a seatpack. Hidden by the back guard if placed at the bottom of the post. Moved it to one of the seatstays and used an alternative shorter o'ring to fasten it on along wit...

Nothing will change whilst we're in the 'transitional period' until the 31st December 2020.

What'll happen after then, heaven knows and that's what's up for negotiation.

Re: Competitive Gravelwanking

Could be wrong (usually am) but think, at the moment, the only way that competitive gravel riding will be done in the UK is if they run an enduro style event with timed stages which would be fun but not exactly the Dirty Kanza. If we ignore the sensible folk in Scotland for a second, then you could...

Re: Competitive Gravelwanking

It was only in 1968 that bikes were legally allowed on bridleways http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1968/41/section/30 . Also the same bit of law that states that ramblers and horse riders have right of way over cyclists. Organise a few non competitive events up in the Peak and the real fun comes ...

Heard a month or two about this (was approached by the folks that are organising it, but that's a different story) that the UCI are introducing a world series for gravel racing. https://www.cyclingnews.com/features/uci-president-keen-to-create-gravel-world-championship/?fbclid=IwAR2cQdBsb6NzPl1-jFZd...

I thought that was somewhere near Meriden?
Think officially that it's Coton in South Derbyshire. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coton_in_the_Elms

Isn't Meriden the middle of England of summat ?

Gone all 'ipster and made some bar end plugs from some prosecco corks. Started by using my Dremel to grind them down, thought I'd set off the workshop fire alarm with the dust (turned out to be a test) and moved onto a hacksaw. Also put some bar tape on my geoff bars. Trying that not only to give me...

Wish threads like this did not come up on this forum. Now musing whether I can fit 27.5 x 1.8 Mud Kings on my Escapade !

Cotic claim it'll take up to 47 mm and I guess there's only one way to find out.

Reckon we should be fine as long as we don't start towing caravans behind our bikes. Had a 'chat' with a very opinionated work colleague (won't go as far as mate) who used to work for the local national park about wild camping. He was saying how morally repugnant it was and how the park discouraged ...

Know it's SBO but have you tried the old fashioned bucket of water test to find out where the leak is ?

Might be a shard of glass or wire that's stuck in the tyre and only makes contact when the tyre's inflated. Had that before.

Re: Dam busters lost and found

Left a blue Decathlon waterproof jacket at the HQ - think I may have put it on my bike outside.

Not doing well for losing stuff this weekend !

If anyone finds it, please let me know and I'll forward funds for it's repatriation.
