Haven't done the WRT for a while but on a ride like that, I certainly would take some lights.
What happens if a section takes longer than expected or you take a different 'turning' as that path looks more exciting than the original plan or dare I say it, you have an extra pint in the pub...?

Tips for training? Only have the one mini-voodoo, so not quite the same. Don't train on my days off! Keep Sunday as a family day as that's the only day all of us are off and I like to get out early to beat the crowds with my family. Sometimes get the odd ride in during the evening. Most of my traini...

New chainring from Superstar (£16 - cheaper than any other ring even at trade prices, we'll see how it goes in the long term)
From the shops shelf, new KMC chain, new jockey wheels, some cables and a cassette
Rides like new again!

Re: A video for Stu!
I enjoyed it, thought it was superbly shot. Very high quality filming and in cold conditions like that, no mean feat! It's amazing how cold you can get faffing with cameras etc in those temperatures. It sort of lacked a story-line (to me at least - left me asking more) but it was a great film. Not s...

Do the others ride rigid bikes? If so, then they'll be able to pack more in the front harness, this looking like they've got less stuff.
My rigid forks can take up to a 20l bag on the front with no interference
