Re: Self Isolation
If you start showing symptoms of an acute respiratory infection John you probably want to stop at home and put the central heating on.

When you thinking of going Mike?
I'm now considering this for early April as my original plan of The Holy Trail looks like its going to be ruined by COVID-19.

The cat is going to catch food for us both if my own stocks eventually run out Reg,
And I've got a feeling that Fray B's are a clear indicator of panic buying so I'm only going to get one or two at once, lest anyone becomes suspicious.

I did my first panic buy last night tbf. £96 of tins, cat food, bog roll etc. Probably do another run tomorrow and that should do it. Aiming to have about 10 weeks worth of food in the house. https://i.imgur.com/MTAMpRr.jpg When supply chains have broken down in a few weeks any Boners are wel...

I can't help thinking that if I were that bothered*, I'd just stay at home. *I'm not saying that anyone shouldn't be bothered - I've no telly, I don't read papers or listen to the news, so have little idea about the level of scare-mongering that's circulating. About to type the same about staying a...

Re: Face Masks.
Masks are really only any use to stop you spreading the disease to others by sneezing/coughing, and to lessen the chances of you touching your mouth/nose/eyes after coming into contact with others. They won't provide proper protection unless it's rated for aerosol-sized particles and even then only ...

Re: Badlands 2020 Who's Going?
€210 seems a little on the steep side imho. Bit predictable there Andy Comparable to the Tuscany Trail when you include a tracker, cheaper than the Italy Divide, half the price of the CAT700, the French Divide charges €100 for an ITT seems it's only the UK where organisers don't get adequate ...

I've got Insure & Go's silver annual policy with the winter sports add-on. Seems to cover everything except DH racing. Cost about £40 iirc.

Re: WTD: hydraulic disk brakes. Hope etc.
Not sure whether it was official warranty but I noticed there was fluid coming out around the pistons after less than a year. Took them into LBS where I bought them and asked them to have a look and they swapped them for the newer ones. Read a few things online at the time saying there was a bit of ...

There was a batch of Deores from about 3 or 4 years ago that had that leaking problem. I took a set back and got newer replacements which have been rock solid.

Mike I've been through the exact same process over the last few years. Hope bearing lasting about 6 months. I've now gone back to the £20 Shimano BBs and they last about 3 times as long. The Hope BB shell is now sat on a shelf, silently mocking me.

Re: How to plan a route....
I find Strava's route builder to be by far the best way of plotting routes Ian. The amount of data they have means their heatmap is miles better than anyone else's and that will ultimately give you the best indication of what the most rideable trails are.

Re: Jenn Ride 2020
Others may disagree Stu but if you didn't want to do the full thing you could chop out the bit between 50 and 100km and not miss too much. Some very good riding on the home stretch and you'll want a bit of juice left in the legs for Garburn Pass.
