Re: Long Shot WTD - Old style VO Crazy Bars

I've got a pair that I don't use any more that I'd be happy to sell.

They're out on loan to someone on here, can't 100% remember who it is though. Boab maybe?

Re: 2 TO 3 DAY LOOP IN Scotland First bikepacking trip

I'd second the recommendations of the Capital Trail and Cairngorms Loop minus the inner bit. If it's your first trip and you're going to be out for 2 nights I wouldn't shy away from bivvying the first night then getting a room in a pub or B&B for the second. Getting a proper nights sleep and a s...

No idea if he posts on here. Hi Webster if you're reading.

That was the replacement I think. The reaplcement I got for that one I subsequently left on a train in Italy. Think I'm on my fifth Joystick all told.

Had this twice, seems to be a particualrly common occurrence  . Exposure fixed it first the time, then the second time they emailed the shop I'd bought it from and told them to give me a non-carbon replacement. :-bd

Re: All night lights

A Joystick on it's lowest setting has always been fine for me, tbf I do most of my night riding in the Peaks with that too. It's very rare I'll put the light up to a higher setting either racing or riding for fun.

Re: Hebden to Edale part of PBW advice sought.

Timings-wise 2 full days of riding should be pleanty to get round the western leg of the MT Loop and then PBW to Edale, but obvs it depends on the fitness of the riders and how game they are for a few reasonably tough climbs. Looks like it's roughly 120km with 3200m climbing. I did the full loop in ...

The effort that's gone into that OP deserves as much praise as the effort that's gone into the bike.

Outstanding all round, a very satisfying payoff.

Re: Veneto Trail 2023 anyone else!

I'm going to go back and finish it at some point, not this year though. Had to drop out last year with about 100km to go after me and Wotsits got a room together then spent the whole night grunting and straining and got no sleep. Had no energy to get back on the bike after that. It's ridiculou...

Re: Steerer-top USB chargers - Cinq Vs Cycle2Charge

I've had a Cinq on my tourer/adventure bike since 2014 on and off. Seems pretty solid and it's been through some fairly abysmal conditions.

Do any of them provide enough juice (ampage? I am not a physicist) to charge a battery of the size you're looking at?

Bit daft doing it with broken ribs to be fair Bob  Decent effort to get as far as you did given the circumstances, and good to see you again obviously. My chances of getting all the way round were very slim - I'd only ridden 39km this year - so I cut my cloth accordingly on the second day. Jibb...
