Re: Bargain Alert Thread

Endura MT500 waterproof jackets (blue only) for £89.99 +postage on SportPursuit. I couldn't resist at that price. They had all sizes when I ordered (not sure what's left now). I've read mixed reviews of these (varying from rave to indifferent) but as I said I couldn't resist a £270rrp jacket for £8...

I also read online that Isla Bikes had ceased production... such a shame https://www.islabikes.co.uk/pages/cease-of-sale Yeah, this is the one that hurst the most. Bought multiple Islabikes for both the kids, fantastic things. Shame others wont get to experience them now... As for Wiggle, surprised...

Re: The tyre amnesty thread - please join!

Ooh ooh me please Bob, (if Ton doesn't want them obviously) Like all my tyres, they're extensively patched. At least one of which might benefit from a proper tubeless mushroom repair... I'll dig them out and take some photos. Plus what do you want for the conti and the two WTB's posted?? Nothing, j...

FS: Selle Italia Model X Green Superflow

I have this saddle taking up space, it's the Selle Italia Model X Green Superflow . According to Selle Italia, it's L3 , or 145 mm in width, but the effective width is much, much less, due to to its curved nature; so this saddle is only suitable for those with narrow sit bones. I used it for a few t...

Re: The tyre amnesty thread - please join!

Right, time to try and reduce the pile of tyres in the shed... First up, a single Continental Terra Trail 700c x 40mm. Was the original rear tyre that I put on my gravel bike when I first built it. It's been run tubeless and tubed and comes with a Tannus Armour insert. As you can see, it's been punc...

Re: Waterproof jacket recommendations

I have packable Galibier Tempest 2, while it's waterproof, it's about as breathable as a bin bag. I also have an Endura MT500 waterproof jacket, and while it's not particularly packable, in so far as it wont fit in your back pocket, it's packable enough that I can strap it to the front harness; whic...

Re: What you done t' your bike today

Had a couple of spare hours this morning, so decided to get the gravel bike wheels setup for winter. Took off the Pirelli Cinturato Gravel M and found bucket loads of thorns and what looks like a couple of nails. Got to love the combination of these tyres and the Orange Seal Endurance that I didn't ...

Re: Are you a hoarder?

The cycling charity were over the moon with the parts and will certainly make better use of them than I ever would. Its something I'm going to try and do more regularly, rather than holding onto things 'just in case'. That's a great idea John, might try and find a similar charity near Cambridge and...

Re: BB200 - a few thoughts.

This is obviously a gross over generalisation, but whatevhas. If you look at the photos from the other Welsh based event that was posted about recently, the number of lycra clad gravel bikers far out weights those on MTBs; plus, there are a number of those gravel bikes sporting tri-bars. I've ridden...
