I've always managed to get my mat inside the bivi along with a 2 season sleeping bag and silk liner. That being said, I am slimmer than most!

Re: European Bikepacking
Yeah, in Spain you have the Camino de Santiago. Check out the various routes (Ie Camino Frances, Via de la Plata, Camino Mozarabe, and more). Also look at the TransAndalus and TransMurciana - both close to good airports. You've also got the Trans-Pyrenees. In France, do a little research on the GR r...

Re: Was I a bit harsh?
To me, bikepacking is about strapping luggage to my bike, be it the road bike, CX, or MTB. It must comprise of multiple days and take me places I have not explored before. It must involve packing sleeping gear (sleeping bag, silk liner, etc) but not necessarily involve sleeping outside (ie Bothy, su...

FS: Aqua Quest Hooped Bivvy
FOR SALE: Aqua Quest Hooped Bivvy £65 I bought this from slowupslowdown in January last year. He had used it just once; I have used it twice, both in dry conditions. I like it, but I've got too much stuff and need to clear out. It needs a minimum of 4 pegs to set it up. I'm presuming you've got your...

Re: Bike Luggage Setup – Advice
If I attached two Monkii cages to my fork, each carrying either 500/750ml fluid, would there be a high risk of the fork failing? (The fork in question is a Rock Shox Sid RL 29) I bought 2 of the Mount Skidmore adaptors , but can only utilise 1 (for just 1 500ml bottle - even that's with a squeeze!),...

Re: Bike Luggage Setup – Advice
If you still want to use frame mounted bottles, you could maybe try the cage adaptors that John Climber got from Oz? They look perfect. I prefer the idea of this to the Gorilla cage. I'll order two and see if I can get these both to fit. I am working on something at present to make this kind of thi...

Bike Luggage Setup – Advice
I’ve been testing my Alpkit bike luggage this morning on the new mountain bike, but not all of it fits perfectly. 1. The Possum frame bag occupies too much triangle, making it impossible to squeeze a 500ml bottle in either bottle cage. 2. Despite the handlebar harness being so high, the attached lug...

Re: Travel insurance
Is it absolutely necessary for this kind of Travel Insurance when in Europe?
I've always expected my standard Travel Insurance plus EHIC to be adequate cover.
Am I wrong?

Tubeless 29er Tyres - Any Recommendations
I'm looking to go tubeless on the new bike. The tyres will be covering dusty Spanish mountainous trails in June, and the bike will be half-laden with gear for 8 days. I'm certain there will be a lot of humping the bike up big hills, so should I be looking at something as low-weight as possible? What...

I use a ProLogo Kappa saddle. I've never had a saddle that fits the bill so well.
I need a new saddle for the new bike, so I might look at the Charge Spoon, seeing as though its reasonably priced!

Re: I'm stuck. Bike Advice Needed (again!)
Theres a thread on STW about how the Canyon prices seem to be fixed now rather than fluctuate according to the actual £ to € ratio meaning one bought with Euros is significantly cheaper. Might be worth looking if Rose are the same. It does of course mean you'll need to get in delivered in mainland ...

Re: I'm stuck. Bike Advice Needed (again!)
slarge - I plan on using it for hitting my local trails in the North York Moors, and take it touring TransAndalus and TransMurciana in June. I think the 29er is going to be the best option; Shimano-equipped with front sus and wheel upgrades from Rose. Massive thanks again for the input. Its much app...

Re: I'm stuck. Bike Advice Needed (again!)
I've got nothing against SRAM transmission. I've had hassle-free rides with mine over the last 18-months. I was a little put-off by the GripShift, but reviews of the SRAM GripShift seem quite positive. Nevertheless, I still think I'd prefer trigger shifters (haven't used GripShift since my old Ralei...

I'm stuck. Bike Advice Needed (again!)
Most of you here know an awful lot more about bikes than I do, so I'm looking to tap in to your wisdom! I've narrowed my bike search down to Canyon and Rose, two models of each. Canyon only do 29ers, but Rose have a 27.5 offering too. Canyon have two models I am contemplating: Canyon Grand Canyon CF...

Izas Fleece size Medium (Polar strech SHAVANO)
£18 posted Polar stretch SHAVANO Fleece Colour: Royal Blue / Yellow Size: Medium Condition: Brand new with tags attached and original packaging. Re: Bike Advice (Switch from CX to MTB?)
Thanks for the input everyone. Much appreciated!! I think I'll be opting for a MTB pretty soon, and the carbon Canyon seems to fit the bill. I'll be putting my Dirty Disco up for sale soon. I believe its a size Medium, SRAM Red-equipped... so if it appeals to anyone, drop me a line  http://www...
