Re: Bespoke frame - anyone done it?

Yes I have had a frame made, a steel hardtail by my friend Chris Yeomans of Smithyframeworks, the whole process was great, the fit, designing, pictures along the way. I would recommend it and yes it is of course more expensive but it fits brilliantly and rides like a dream. https://www.smithyframewo...

Re: Rigs (NOT bikes) of the tour divide

The alloy tailfin without bag is much cheaper, and weight still OKish... How about the bike with a full length Narwhal tusk on the front. Are they planning to joust? https://bikepacking.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Mike-Enfield-tour-divide-2021_1.jpg I met this fella (Mike) on day 2 in 2019 and h...

Re: King Alfreds Way.

Well it was great to meet you. Gave me a real boost. I did mutter darkly about your comment that it was easy riding to Reading whilst swerving round puddle after puddle on that bridleway running parallel with the main road just before you hit the outskirts of the city. I said there was the occasion...

Re: King Alfreds Way.

Trob6. Sounds like you. How long did it take to get to qecp? I had a wild day getting from Reading to Marlborough then it improved from there. Wales as ever was sublime. Well we didn't get there that night! Rode until it was nearly dark that day and camped in some woods, up early and was there in a...

Re: King Alfreds Way.

I used the Farnham to Reading section to link the NDW with the Kennet and Avon canal last week. Didn't enjoy the route much. It was really just a road ride with short sections of boggy off road to clag up the drivetrain and slow you to a crawl. Granted it was a horrendous wet weekend but the NDW wa...

Re: Sonder Frontier size help

Hello

My wife is 5 foot 3 and has a small frame and a friend of ours is 5 foot 6 and the small was much too small so she got a medium frame and it fits her really well, its got 29er wheels but not full mudguards and toe overlap doesn't seem to be a problem on either bike.

Re: New Alpkit Tents

I received one today also for my wife, we put it up in the garden for a test, clipped the inner to the outer so can pitch as one, the poles at the end were a real sod to fit, proper tight. Took a few minutes to blow up but realized you can unscrew the release valve and blow it up with your mouth in ...
