Re: loosing you offroad mojo ?

I'm pretty anxious too after my knee replacement and really just like the regular rough road tracks and single tracks. Anything particularly technical I'll walk. TBH I've been like that for years as any off will really jar my back and lead to other issues. I just enjoy the nature of being off road a...

Re: NCN cuts

The NCN will dissappear from the whole of Shetland, but they want the route to remain in a different status/name. It was only all resigned last year. The new specifications/criteria for sustrans funding will also be an issue for us where segregation is not really practical or necessary with our user...

Re: Shoes for the wider foot

I got 5.10 kestrels (in a sale luckily) and really like them. I'm size 12.5 and wide and they've been great. Soles are pretty good for the HAB I've done and general off the bikeness.

I'd definitely get them again, but hopefully in a sale again too

I couldn't do the WRT in the end with my buggered wrist. Re: WRT original weekend (Fri 8th & Sat 9th May) back garden camp out

Sorry guys (and Taylor who did my points) that's probably me out. My wrist has gone doolally this evening after gardening, can hardly use my hand. Steroid injection over due.

I'll keep my routes to do once it settled.

Hopefully you all have fun.

Re: WRT original weekend (Fri 8th & Sat 9th May) back garden camp out

I've decided I'm not going to be doing my ride fully loaded as I'll stand out here, and people will get the wrong idea thinking I'm out touring. I'll leave the camp gear at home.

Hopefully that doesn't exclude me, but I'll do the ride and get some pics and video of the locations any way.

Re: Should Be In Todays Ride, But Its Not Because...It's Not

I do something on it most days if I can't get out due to weather or like now with the restrictions. Normally only 45mins to an hour, occasionally up to 2 to keep ticking over.

Re: Should Be In Todays Ride, But Its Not Because...It's Not

Haha! I did 200km on zwift (flat course) in the shed through the course of Saturday as did my mate at his place.

We had signed up for a zwift 300 as it would have been the Turra Coo audax last weekend, but 200k on the turbo was plenty!

Not the best fun days riding, but served a purpose, I hope!

No problem Reg, just the town/village name will do, don't have to be that accurate unless of course you live on the edge of Birmingham in which case a ten mile radius from the centre of same wouldn't be that pleasant  The "one hour" thing was an off the cuff remark by Gove, there's no law, rul...

OK, so you can maybe use the same garden spot twice, but you have to decamp and take it with you. :-bd
Though I couldn't realistically carry the shed with me  So restrict that to once.

As others have said the difference with road could be that you're just so much more static, like the difference between road and turbo. I use drops on all my bikes due to knackered wrists, double wrapped and have got a Redshift shock stop stem for my gravel/general purpose bike which has helped a lo...
