Re: Veloviewer map - explorer tiles

This is quite a useful resource for getting to the more difficult squares: https://rideeverytile.com/tiles/heatmap I dunno what data that is based on but I can confirm it is incorrect. Incorrect in what way - presumably there are some tiles that you've ridden that are not appearing on the heatmap ?...

Re: Veloviewer map - explorer tiles

Moved on to 10x10 after this weekends ride. Next tiles look relatively straightforward, however getting much past 12x12 is going to be tricky. I’d plotted a little SUP trip down the River Dee back to Chester to pick up a further 5 tiles, however looking at the map again this weekend I’d overlooked ...

Re: Veloviewer map - explorer tiles

Looks like the very recent Strava update has included a major overhaul of the route planning. As far as I can see, this means that there is currently no integration back to VeloViewer, meaning I can no longer plot routes with an Explorer Tiles overlay  I've emailed Ben @ V-V to see if he's got...

Not retired yet, but no kids and an understanding wife.
In fact, she's joined me on many a VV ride on the tandem.

Re: Veloviewer map - explorer tiles

Very quick response from Ben @ V-V. He sounds busy

He pointed to this post on his FB page.

To summarise:
Unlikely to be getting the overlay back in the short term, but there are a couple of tips to make life a little easier.

Re: Veloviewer map - explorer tiles

Well, I'm a paid-up Strava subscriber and even that doesn't help at this stage.
Subscriber or not - there is no Explorer overlay in the routing.

Cheers for the KML tip, I hadn't thought of trying that.

Have you considered laser surgery?
Had mine done over 10 years ago.
I didn't end up with 100% correction - but good enough for driving, so easily good enough for riding/climbing/walking/etc.

Noted gentlemen !! FWIW - do you think the asking prices are fair ? Well - I'm no expert , but they at least sound like a good starting point for a negotiation. Too high to get a speculative buy, but probably right to interest someone who's in the market for exactly that. Truss forks on both ? Wort...
