Wanted 27.5 x 2.1 or 650b x 47c tyre
As above. After a new back tyre for the gravel monster cross thing. I've got a maxxis rekon race (I think) in 2.1 on it at the mo and that's about as wide as I can get away with. I'm after something similar, or one of the chunkier wtb 47c offerings, like the sendero. Have found a few online, but tho...

Re: Paramo velez sizing
Thanks, will do. Does the same advice apply if it looks clean and water still beads on the fabric? The seller claims he's only used it a couple of times.lune ranger wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 6:14 am Nice. I’d recommend giving it a wash with soap or TechWash then treating it with TX Direct before using it.

Re: Paramo velez sizing
Managed to score a lightly used velez light in large for a whisker under 100 quid, and am hoping for great things!

Thanks for that - all very encouraging. Would you mind posting a quick review of the Brynje with the paramo when it turns up please?

Re: Paramo velez sizing
That's interesting - I have been considering Gore Shakedry myself, so interesting you find it really sweaty.... Overall though, with tweaking of venting and rolling sleeves up, I can generally stay a good temperature in a Paramo, just don't expect it to be some miracle worker! As mentioned elsewher...

Re: Paramo velez sizing
Thanks for such a comprehensive reply. As a seriously sweaty individual, I'm pretty sold on the lightweight pump liner, hence the velez light. I've tried gore shakedry and various others and just end up drenched from the inside out, but it sounds like the pump liner is made for people like me..

Re: Paramo velez sizing
Thanks. It's the fabric that the velez is made of that is the selling point for me - active pump or something? Not sure if any of their ciclo range are made of that?

Thanks both. Great advice as ever from the boner hive mind. Sounds like a large is the way forward, with alterations as and if necessary.

Paramo velez sizing
Enthusiasm duly fired by all the talk of sweat free cycling on the wet weather gear thread, I was wondering how folk find the sizing of the paramo velez light? I'm 6ff, 14st with a 43 chest and their size guide says I'm a Large. I've also got comically long arms, so any advice on how they size up in...

Does 20 posted sound OK? Can ping you some photos if you like, but it's completely unused, still clinging to the tattered fragments of the original packaging.

Got an unused volt comp in black, but it's a 135mm. Is that any good?

Re: Wet Gear Query
Hadn't heard of them before. Strong look! I've got some odlo (also nordic I think?) mesh base layers that work well, so I'll keep an eye out for one of them.

Re: Wet Gear Query
Good shout. Nothing suitable there at the mo, but prices are decent. I'll keep an eye out as it seems to be a lot of love here for their stuff.

Pertex is the approach I take too when it's warm. Interesting comments on the paramo - just a shame they're so pricey!

Re: Wet Gear Query
Are there any other super sweaters out there? The sort who leave a sodden imprint in the gym, are dripping after 10 minutes on the bike and cannot find a jacket that breathes enough to stay dry? After years of experimenting with different fabrics, I've given up and resigned myself to getting wet, oc...

Re: Wanted - flared drop bars
Huge shout out to genetic bikes, who have just offered me a pair of replacement bars. Didn't expect that, especially since I bought them (new and unused) from a bike builder in Brighton and not from an authorised dealer. Great to see a company standing by their product

Re: Wanted - flared drop bars
No, nothing dramatic, happily. I was just riding a couple of trails after a stretch of the south downs way and felt a bang as the bottom half of the left hand drop came away. The break is a good inch or so below the bottom of the lever clamp, so I don't think it can be down to over enthusiastic clam...

Wanted - flared drop bars
Just snapped my otherwise excellent genetic digest bars and, while I'm going to (almost certainly unsuccessfully) look into a warranty claim, just wondered if anyone has any unwanted and unloved flared drops they want to move on? I like the shape of the digests, so probably looking for something sim...
