Neoair users

I've just bought a neoair xlite and it seems really nicely made, very easy to inflate and deflate and packs down nice and small. Quick question for existing neoair users - do you always use the pump sack ? It seems like a bit of a ballache to use (although I guess I'll get more proficient) and it's ...

Slightly lighter, slightly thicker and slightly better insulation than the model I've just bought. Slightly annoying.

Re: Bargain Alert Thread

I've been scouring the classifieds for a while for a 2nd hand neoair xlite and they seem to go for 120-140 on eBay. Saved the arseache and scored one new for 120 post free here - https://www.elitemountainsupplies.co.uk/camping-trekking-c4/sleeping-c17/thermarest-sleeping-mats-c19/thermarest-neoair-x...

Re: PBP - anyone planning on entering?

Thanks, I'll bear that in mind. Been meaning to ride it for years, so I'll probably stick an entry in soonish. 70 quid seems a wee bit steep, but it looks like there might be some food laid on and a place to kip etc

Re: 2023 - Plans, rides and things to look forward to

As mentioned elsewhere, I'm going to attempt to complete an audax SR series and qualify for Paris Brest Paris in August. Would also like to try BAM with my 14yo autistic son - I imagine this will be significantly harder to achieve than the first goal! And am planning a 510km round trip of all the fi...

Re: PBP - anyone planning on entering?

I'm sold. There are a few bucket list audax rides that I'm hoping to factor into the qualification, like the Bryan Chapman 600, so qualification would really be a bonus.

Re: PBP - anyone planning on entering?

@dyffers and @flyingpig - do you both have qualifying rides from 2022 that will allow you to pre-register? I haven't ridden an audax since London-edinburgh-London in 2007, but am hoping there are some spaces left once registration officially opens in June. Got my first SR qualifier (a 200k) booked f...

Re: PBP - anyone planning on entering?

A mate from work did it a couple of times and it's been on my bucket list ever since. Bit of a palaver qualifying (and no guarantees), but I'll give it a bash!

PBP - anyone planning on entering?

Just realised that PBP is happening in August next year and have had a rush of enthusiasm about entering. Anyone else planning to do it?

Some huge discounts on sportful stuff here -https://saddleback.co.uk/collections/outlet. Very Roady and crazy italian sizing, but in my experience excellent kit. Think it's the same company as castelli and their fiandre bits are pretty much the same as gabba. Update - just received a fiandre long sl...

Bikester discount is now at 70%, and thua about to cause some unnecessary spending! Great spot! Just stocked up on a load of gear. Bit like a massive online jumble sale, but plenty of goodies they're obviously discontinuing, like edi grips, DT Swiss skewers, the excellent lezyne power bottle cages ...

Well done Greg. I saw your result and was very impressed. We did ok for two blokes who haven't done any running or map reading for 12 years. Really enjoyed it though - the currently nsane DOMS less so.

Nice one. Daren't weigh my bag and haven't even tried it on since breaking my collarbone a couple of months ago. I'd definitely take wet, windy and warm over cold. Hope you have a good one!

Anyone doing the OMM next weekend?

I started a similar thread this time last year and it all went a bit tits up... Anyone carried their entry over from last year's blow out? The last one I did was about 14 years ago and I'm making a very ill advised return to the long score with my bro. We plan on very much making up the numbers.

Re: Bargain Alert Thread

I know this probably isn't the target demographic for Italian bibshorts, but various ale (with an accent on the e, rather than the Newcastle brown variety) products are currently discounted on wiggle, including larger sizes of their very excellent shorts for 30 quid. As is the norm for Italian stuff...
