I wonder if one could bolt on one of those old school DH braces? No good for holding, but could help with attaching luggage.

Re: Bargain Alert Thread
Stef and Dave from Pannier used Big Bros on the Silk Road Mountain Race. If they suit your needs in terms of £££, size, geometry, braze-ons etc., then hard to see how you could go far wrong with them.

What's in your hip flask?
Prompted by the various tipply responses to "Bob's first bivvy", what's in your hip flask*? I'll normally take a single malt, preferably summat unsubtle and peaty, hut I've recently been developing a taste for some Calvados or Armagnac... *lightweight soft flask/plastic bottle/friendly St ...

Stove : I was going to get an AlpKit Kraku but they've disappeared from the website, can anyone recommend anything similar? I don't like meths, so would prefer a gas canister based system of some sort. The Kraku is a rebadged Fire Maple Hornet. Planet X have 8 in stock as I type... https://www.plan...

For trail snacks, I really like the orange and cacao bars from Lidl.

Probably easier to get the seat tube reamed. My understanding of titanium is it's very hard to machine.

Re: handlebar question
Cy from Cotic did an email newsletter about bars and stems. I think it pretty much boils down to "it depends", but here it is as food for thought: Bit of tech this time. A couple of months ago I was following the early rounds of the EWS, as well as discussing bar width and height with a co...

Re: Winter boots
I got some Trespass softshell ones off eBay for about £10. They're pretty minimal, but leave my ankles noticeably warmer. I've not ridden with them in very rainy conditions yet, but the hope is they'll prevent the "waterproof shoes acting as buckets" effect.

As above. Look for split tickets, and book as far ahead as possible. I got Sheffield to Inverness for £20-odd.

Re: What you doing next year?
I've signed up for Moors 100. In less definite plans, I'm also hoping to get enough miles in my legs to have a decent crack at the Peak 200 and the Second City Divide (in hopes of someone buying me a beer in Manchester). I'll hopefully also keep going with BAM. Surely BAM is about more than just sle...

Re: Bivvy a month 2019
As promised, a slightly more detailed account of Novembivvy. I'd hoped to get out earlier in the month, but work and illness got in the way rather. So with the weekend approaching, loins were girded, resolve was steeled, and *all the warm things* were packed. Trepid Explorer joined me and the family...

Re: Bivvy a month 2019
Stopped out last night, accompanied by Trep. That's 12 months in a row for me. Spent today riding round a cold and foggy Peak. Knackered now. Will do a proper write up once I've recovered.
