Re: Alternative to a Salsa Fargo
Off the peg? Sutra ULTD and Vagabond are the ones that spring to mind, sure there's some much more spendy options out there too

Re: Road bike price
depends they take their fees for the listing and force you to use Paypal [they ownit] so take fees - would we consider it reasonable if stu took the same % for sales on here as he is also providing the platform for the sale which is all ebay does ? Granted its still worth putting it on as you get m...

Re: Road bike price
Agree with all said above, second hand bike market at the moment is mental. Good advice here. There's also a significant number of chancers on eBay at the moment using the old Stella Artois 'reassuringly expensive' method and trying to shift 90s mountain bikes (which are in vogue obviously) for £500...

FS Continental X-King 29x2.4 folding tyre, new
Brand new in packaging. An older model that's not sold any more. Not Black Chili/Protection compound.
Fast rolling, I believe it weighs in at around 760g. No indication on the packaging but I think it's possible to set it up tubeless.
£15 plus post.

sold Sale or swap: Vango Blade Pro 200 tent
Testing the waters really. I really like my Vango Blade Pro 200, bought in 2019 and used for approx. 14 nights. However, I'm coming to realize I simply don't need all that space. It's massive inside, and I tend to camp either solo or with friends who also have solo tents. I'm not bothered about sitt...

Re: Wtd 29er frame m 650b frame
Ofc it's best to buy a BBBer bike but if it doesn't work out, Alpkit/Sonder have last year's Frontier rigid frame sets going cheap (200ish), might be worth looking at if you don't find something here.

Re: Rear rack for a krampus
I should have been clearer, apologies - I just suggested the Vega as it was what I'd done the most research into from my limited experience and had read talk of it fitting 3.0 rubber, especially the 29er version. Of course it's not the optimal solution in this case - more that if you are specificall...

Re: Rear rack for a krampus
Just bought a Tubus Vega myself. There's an article on Bikepacking.com about fitting one on an ECR with 29x3.0 tyres on those rims, might be worth a look. Otherwise Blackburn do a fat rack for big tyres. I have a Vega on my Krampus and it didn't work with Maxxis DHR II 3.0" on a rather narrow ...

I've used the Lixada TA/QR adapters you can get on Amazon. Not ridden them extensively but they were easy to fit and work just fine, i.e. you forget about them

Re: Bargain Alert Thread
That super cheap Mezcal is sold out now. Anyone know why they're going cheap? New model? The cheap ones seem to have dried up now. If you're interested I'm selling one of the two I bought in the Classifieds section - I'm already pushing it for chain clearance at 2.4, and 2.6 Mezcals are apparently ...

SOLD 29 x 2.6 Vittoria Mezcal III Tyre
Bought a pair of these on eBay (now sold out). Not arrived yet but dispatched and no returns. I can run one on the front, but realised that since I'm running 2x10 on my Longitude, 2.6 is almost certainly going to give me chain rub in the granny gear - of which I am very fond. They apparently come ou...

Re: Rear rack for a krampus
Yes would certainly like an omm one but expensive to import from the US, same for the Tumbleweed one. @directdrive I’ll have a read at that article cheers. https://bikepacking.com/gear/tubus-vega-surly-ecr-rack-mods-extra-h20/ Here it is just in case. If you do decide on a Vega, Spa have the regula...

I'm no Government official like but, BBC says 'people who live in Wales can stay in self contained accommodation' and 'there is no limit t travel within Wales'. However there is no travel into Wales from England until 12th April at the earliest. Stu's 'neighbours', get a mention here from Llanbrynm...

Cheers all, seems to be a consensus that the Mezcals are the way to go. Someone on eBay has got them for £25 each, so I'll take a punt. That's a third of an ET. Plus they've got the same pretty grey sidewall

Re: Surly Extraterrestrial 29x2.5 alternatives?
I am currently waiting for my ET's in 27.5x2.5 for my Bridgeclub to arrive, I did look at the Marathon Allmotion but in both wheel sizes it is only available in a 2.15, Vittoria do the Mezcal in a 2.6? Mezcal might be the sweet spot actually - that would be an ideal size. Vittoria stuff often comes...
