Re: Bargain Alert Thread

I really like the look of some of the olsen bikes but the website melts my head, I can't even find tyres until I search for the word tyre, and the bike build choices are just too numerous and confusing, I debating buying a few months back but in the end I just gave up on the website

Out of curiosity I looked at the whippet too , it's literally the ramin in a different material if the figures are correct, I guess there are only so many different numbers that work

Re: Bike insights comparison, are they really so similar (Ramin vs rocky road)

They certainly would have sold more if it were priced higher, its way more than the sum of its parts and the low price definitely put some snobs off I tried to flog it initially before I decided to sell the jones and it was mint upgraded drive train and other bits and bats and I didn't get one bite ...

Re: Bike insights comparison, are they really so similar (Ramin vs rocky road)

There is mate but it seems so close as to not be really any difference if you know what I mean, obviously it will be different, just not a great deal That said apart from the fantastic forks and flexible rear the Jones spaceframe I had wasn't all that different to the ramin if I'm honest, which is w...

Re: Stupid, genius, or will I die...?

I had my jones like that it was 2.35 29er rear and 4.3 surly Edna up front and it was pretty much the same size the previous 3.8 tyre was a bit small , but I reckon a 2.4 rear 4.8 front would be great 👍

Re: Surly Krampus 29+ or similar?

Ive used 2.35 and 2.4 on the back on a 50mm rim no problems at all the walls are I bit more exposed and its a little square but nothing bad tbh I'd be tempted to run 2.4 on back and 2.6 on the front when not using two 3.0 just to round the front tyre up a bit
