Could try wrapping your bars in white electrical tape to see what the white bars would look like?
I cant really tell from the photo but it doesnt look like there is much bare bar showing at all? Would you even notice the colour change?

What about the Hebrides? Very low traffic volume. Plenty of opportunity for wild camping. You could get the Ullapool > Stornoway ferry then down to the south and back to the mainland via the Lochboisdale > Oban ferry. That would be around 100 miles cycling.
