Another vote for G-ones. Tubeless are surprisingly sprightly on tarmac and nice and cushiony on bumps. Not terribly reassuring on loose stuff though.

SHutter Precision PD-8X Power 6-Bolt Disk.
This is supplied as a 15mm bolt through with a reducer for QR included for about 150 quid.

I've had a SON built first into a 26er touring wheel and more recently on a brevet bike. Done thousands of km's and is still like new. Can't fault it at all. I can highly recommend the trails east of Dunkery Beacon above Minehead and out into the Quantocks.
Some lovely little wooded valleys and rolling ridge lines. Plenty of places to tuck in to bivi overnight as well.
Did an overnighter up that way in the spring and had a fantastic time.

Not an original idea but Surly Krampus would work.
The older green version has old standard hub spacing, is designed for 29+, can be bought on eBay for a couple of hundred quid, comes in an XL size and will run ok with standard 29er wheels.
