Whilst the Revelate stuff is good, I find Beth's gear so much better.

And it's not a ridiculous wait with another bill from customs at the end.
As far as the bar harness goes, me too. The Wildcat harness is excellent.

Re: EWE Tires??

ah hah, a fellow specialized tyre user. I've been on my fast track for a good while now, I used it in the snow and mud and then for my road / firetrack trip round tenerife recently. Its proven pretty good so far, rolls well. I'd like a little more volume maybe but can always bung another ground cont...

An optimus Crux and an MSR Titan kettle.

Ill be sticking with the mug / meths set up for one nighters for brews etc but this brings me a lightweight gas set up for when I think I want to cook instead.

Re: What would you do....?

Quite a while ago I had some hope brakes pretty much completely apart. I dont remember it being being difficult as such, a faf and fiddly yes. If it was approaching the price of getting hope to do it, I likely would get hope to do so as I cant say I like stipping brakes down. The only thing to stop ...

Re: EWE Tires??

Stu speaks the truth, looking at Aidans route the terrain will vary hugely. I personnally really like Maxxis tyres but dont like the weight of the LUST versions, nor do I like the cost of the tyres! Based on on the pure mileage of the route, I too would look to fast rolling combos set up tubeless. M...

Re: Answer XC Enduro 720 20/20 carbon bar.

My bar bag straps always rub at my bars. even if I put some tape on there, eventually the strap gets through it. This makes me less willing to use carbon bars, I use Easton Havens that I got in the sale at the moment which are very good. Alu ones dont claim the vibration absorbtion of carbon but I f...

Sorry, just re read. TD 2014, in which case... When's the prep starting?

I'm looking into the timing of getting the time off work to line up myself for 2014. You fancy getting out for a ride and a chat over it at some point?

Nice piece of work there. Was it basically your design with input from rob?

He always produces such nice results.

Also, TD this year? How's the prep going for that?

I like the idea of rohloffs, mainly I think its the engineer in me that is fascinated by them.
Sooner or later I will get one.

Not keen on the belt drive, as above lack of spares could be an issue. I also dont really like the frame split either.

Re: Bivvy a month for 2013

2/2 - Managed to get a wee trip over to tenerife. Its a cracking place for a winter trip. We saw temps of 26 degrees, dry dusty trails and lovely roads. We arrived ready to ride, upacked the bikes and stashed the bike bags in the bushes :D We left the airport mid afternoon, did a bit of shopping, ha...

hmm, that looks pretty good. I guess your feet would be touching the tarp at the bottom in order to get your head out of the rain, if its raining!

Re: Pyramid Tent review

Borah gear 9'x5.5' How did you bicycle it? A frame, lean to? Aframe first night, which would keep the rain off so long as its not too windy i guess. A frame with one side low the second, made it a very low pitch Lean to 3rd night, kept some of the wind off but to get out of any rain would have been...

Depends how close to getting up time it is. The closer it is, the more likely I am to lay there and suffer.

Generally, after a small amount of procrastination I get up and go as quickly as possible
