Re: Independent Fab resprayer recommendations
Thanks people. Clearly I won't be going to Mercian then. I spoke with FatCreations and the wuote is around 225 give or take (sorry if I've already said that) and includes handpaitned decals that they recreate from whats on my frame already. 25 quid posted back so a grand total of at least 250 if not...

Re: Nice gear you don't use?
But, I've also some kit that has not reached it's cost per-use threshold for me to be happy - which is under 10p in my house. Example being PHD K-Lite down vest which I really don't want to ride in on cold days in case I bin myself and shred I think my single track trousers have probably reached le...

Re: Independent Fab resprayer recommendations
Thanks Blackhound. I've spoken to Fatcreations so far. Roughly £225 (give or take) will get me a paintjob plus painted on decals with custom made srencils they will make themselves using the original decal specs! Sounds good but pricey... Woodrup, I heard of them and gave them a call the other day t...

Re: Independent Fab resprayer recommendations
I'm afraid I can't help with suggestions for the respray, but as it's Reynolds tubing they sell replacement decals for that bit of the work. You'll need to supply details of the bike including frame number to be able to get them which I find reassuring as hopefully it means eBay isn't full of fake ...

Independent Fab resprayer recommendations
As per the title... I was in the middle of selling if my IndyFab Steel Deluxe in Reynolds 853 and true temper tubing. But have had a change of heart and i stead going to have it resprayed. Generally the paint is in good order but it does look shabby around the chainstays as the previius owner suffer...

Re: Bivvy bag instead ofsleeping mat
Sorted. Took Norms advice and bought once instead of having to get again after a few expeditions (can I still call a 2 day bikepacking trip as an expedition??)... Got myself a shiny NeoAir Thermarest Xlite. R factor of 3.2 and weight of 340g. Hopefully should keep the cobwebs off the old back (is th...

Re: Bivvy bag instead ofsleeping mat
Thanks again people. Each message makes me look forward to my first solo camping/touring trip more and more. My alpkit muin arrived yesterday and I'm already thinking of how to snatch it away from my 2 year old. Will start saving up the pennies for an R value of more than 3.5 (Norm, did I say ta)...

Re: Bivvy bag instead ofsleeping mat
Thanks people... looks like my massive rolling foam mats that were bought from outdoor world (or similar) will have to go in the bin as soon as i get back next week. For the moment one of the abovementioned is gonna have to go with me cos I'm not crazy (well according to the standards set on here I'...

Re: Painless Tubeless
Excellent idea. Will try it next time if I need to Dont really have a problem with stans steip or ghetto (inner tube cut down) on my mtb but have gone tubeless in the roadie and the higher pressures are a pain. Might just be the fact that I jeep using non tubeless tires. I wonder if this trick would...

Bivvy bag instead ofsleeping mat
Hi people. Just a quick question that i wondered. Am currently in the hunt for a lightweight and packable sleeping mat (for bikepacking eventually). Any suggestions are welcome. What I am wondering is, would I be better off investing in a bivvy bag as I assume people that use bivvy bags dont use sle...

My main fears are my bike getting nicked and dying for a loo m...
