Re: BB 200 - Lost and Found

If there was any wrappers at the top of the rocky climb after the hostal I may be guilty (Accidentally I must stress). I had a saddle bag eruption up there in the dark looking for warm clothes. Otherwise, not guilty. Thanks if you tidied up after me. It any of mine were found there, there may be a b...

Re: I'm hooked - Whats on the horizon?

I do plan on being there for the cairngorms loop mass start, should be good. You're right, there are deffinately plenty of things out there already established. Whilst its a shame winter seems to be setting in I really shouldnt let that put me off too much, night riding isnt so bad, you just have to...

Re: BB 200 ... and so it begins

Also, kudos & respect to all the people that bivvied out last night. When the skies cleared at about 5pm the temperature plummeted and by 1am there was ice in places and thick frost on everything. I remember my jacket being slightly crispy when I took it off and my helmet covered in frozen drop...

Re: BB 200 ... and so it begins

aye, very well done to all finishers. 15 hours is frankly superb!

I got myself a blue badge this year, although I did sleep for a fair while.

My lights proved hugely inadequate, as did my legs... :D

I'll be back next year chasing a black badge.

That looks reasonable for weather. I'm a bundle of nerves now!

I'll be camping in dolgad campsite this evening. Pop over and say hi if anybody else is there.
More than likely in my bright yellow tent next to a grey Honda accord estate,

Bike *should* be good to go, I ride it regularly and providing its still working when I put it away after a ride tonight, its staying that way.

Food is my biggest bug bear, I could carry a stove and pasta, or could try to survive on energy bars and malt loaf! :D

Re: How is everyones BB200 prep going?

OS are great maps but they never seem to be in the middle of any areas I want. Does anyone know the map numbers that cover the route? I expect landranger would do.

I have a GPS but I'm not familiar with the area and maps are a nice back up.

Interesting, cheers. I will certainly take a look at the alfine 11 then.

The only alfine I have seen is action was an alfine 8, the cable looked horrible to set up. I will certainly look though.
Is the shifter still the cheapo looking thing for the 11?

I have both. They are both good mats, I found the Numo is more comforatable, and easier to pack down to a small size. They both do however, go down overnight. The numo has my hip touching the cold floor within 4 hours. I can find a leak though so maybe its the valve. I have swapped to an Exped Air M...
