Cheers both.
Composite, thanks would like to see your set up. I have the 23 degree bars. Maybe I need to look at my cables.

salsa bend 2 bars and dry bag strapping
I have a set of salsa bend 2 bars and I've just been checking my bar harness is all good. But I can't seem to arrange it so that there's no pressure on my cables. Does anyone have these bars and can show me how you strapped on? I have a myog harness which consists of two support straps that go betwe...

Re: BB200 - 4 Weeks to Go
I have been thinking about kit. But only to stop me thinking about how little riding I've been doing.
I'll be happy to finish!
Still looking forward to it.

Re: Myog mini-tarp advice
The spare piece of coated fabric I have is 1.45m X 2m.
Decided that should do the job, weighs 180g.
Rigged in the garden using stones as anchor points, tested by watering can and children.
Now to sew some anchor points on it.

Re: Myog mini-tarp advice
Ha, the rain would run straight off that on to your legs and be horribly uncomfortable and annoying.
I was thinking of going 1.5 x 1.8m. have to see how much material I have. Will have a play in the garden with set ups.

Myog mini-tarp advice
For bb200 I'm thinking of making a mini tarp. Thinking something big enough to cover head to waist, as if (when) I stop I'll be using a hunka bivi bag. I have some light coated fabric, was thinking of putting in corner and midpoint eyelets round the edge with some reinforcements. So how big should I...

Re: Cheap(er) dynamo to USB power option
John climber, that usb xml light won't work as output from an sp hub is limited to 500ma. You need 1500ma to get 300 lumen from that light.
Xml leds are rated to run at high drive currents. Not suitable for dyno applications.

Re: is anyone actually training for BB200?
Well I've been off the bike for seven weeks now. Lost the first four due to a back injury, then been on holiday and been lazy. Considered pulling out, but i'll be miserable if don't give it a go, so will cram in some last minute training and temper my aspirations on time. Whatever happens it's going...

Re: bb200 route, any morsels of what to expect?
Much pain and suffering, soul destroying hike a bike, boggy death marches, a bunch of slippery, grassy, tussocky descents... good times. :-bd Excellent. That's what I'll be signing up for. Berwyns are great, local to my in-laws so know the area reasonably well. It's brilliant, hardly any punters an...

In Whitby on hol, dropped into mountain warehouse and got a light weight summer bag for 17 quid, down from 54. They had a 3 season version fur the same money.
Prob not amazing quality but good for occasional use. May be worth checking other stores.

My Mather is going to cromaworks in Sheffield in a couple of months.
Not powder coat, but the stuff they can do is vaguely exciting. And price is reasonable for the work.

I have far too many big idea s in my head, not got time to do them all, but these are my musts Dyfi enduro, missed out this year due to op, and just love this event. bb200 will attempt sub 24. Even though I said I wouldn't go back after this year. tcw, need to do this in one go, after failing in 201...

Re: Dynamos and powering stuff
I have an SP dynohub on my commute bike. I built a light unit with twin XP-g leds and a supercap circuit which gives about 2-3 minutes high intensity standlight on one of the leds. which then drops off but is normally still lit about 20 minutes later. plenty to be seen at junctions. Calculated outpu...
