Re: Dynamo hubs and lights.

to be fair the SP hubs are pretty bullet proof - you only have to look at the number of them being used on RTW/ PBP/other audaxes an of course a number of folk on here using them for long distance trips. ..... its just the the puffer does seem to just laugh at bearings when your soloing - I've never...

Re: 2016 Highland Trail route.

Thats for the clarification on expectations Alan.

That puts a little less pressure on trying to do an ITT at short notice in the next 5 weeks.

Not that it will stop me trying to get it past the fun police !

Re: 2016 Highland Trail route.

Quick one....

What are these qualifying events you speak of? Been out the uk most of this year so not to speed on this.

Do you have to do group starts to or could i do one of them as an ITT to qualify ?

Re: First GPS

from what I've read and witnessed it will not charge from usb but it will run direct from usb power. - how ever you probably would be needing a buffer battery in your system if using a dynamo. Also not sure if you need a garmin" on the go" lead like you do with the edges - to stop them goi...

Re: Bothies on the BBC

oh yes rich i dont disagree with that - bothy trashing dates back to long before any of us were roaming the earth - when they put the once lovely interiors "up the lum" - baring in mind where many of the bothys came from. How ever its becoming quite common nee expected to find a group of d...

Re: Bothies on the BBC

im on the fence with this one. Bothies when i grew up were either - your a member of the MBA and knew about them , word of mouth or blind luck stumbling across them. Often they werent in good shape. Certainly in scotland the bothies of late have been in the best shape ive seen them in years - wind/w...

Re: First GPS

Zippy The low price of the 20 in your link was probably when they were clearing stocks them out to make way for the 20X model. the 20 and 20x are currently the same price on amazon.... and more so amazon and their resellers dont seem to be very reliable on differentiating between a 20 and a 20x. Can...
