I got some wool felt inners to add a bit of warmth to my boots when I was in Lapland for a week. Wife and kids were in proper Sorels. I was in a pair of Scarpa SLs with the inner and was fine. Including for a good few hours standing still waiting for the northern lights

That has active insulation, it's designed to be worn on the move. You want the non active version for static use. Active is not as warm but much more breathable, which is great while in motion but not in camp or stopped

I found the wheel flopped when I put it on the centre stand - if there's cargo on the back then the front wheel gets lifted up. I put one of those on and it fixed it, although doesn't work very well if there's heavyish cargo on the front rack

The theory is sound, there must be some help in real life, particularly if you can do it with no weight penalty

I’ve had a few lights now and still have a few different ones, but the exposure ones really are good. Excellent mounts too

You're going to need to take the wheels off to get it in the roof box. If you're going to do that, you can probably just put the bike into the boot of the car if it's empty

The cheap ones from China all fit a smartphone? Not elegant but very functional
