Re: OT: broken nut extraction tool?

if you take the mirror off will you be left with a stub to remove with mole grips?

It also shouldn't be that tight to remove as its not seized in and isn't under load anymore

Re: Fork for Marin frame.

yea just looked at marins site. It says hanger 38/39 for the four corners up to 2019 so its likely that one and is £24. The old elite frames used to be columbus thron tubesets i think but i'm not sure these are?

Re: Fork for Marin frame.

They had these for sale at peatys bike bonanza last november (?). The lack of axle/mech hanger and forks put me off. If Marin can't supply the bits i dont know who else can?

Rallymoto desktop road book rally

Anybody else doing these? I know there's a few on here who like map reading/navigating. It may ease the boredom a bit and is for a good cause, Basically every weekday you get an email containing a PDF copy of a road book with a map. You have to follow the road book til the end and make a note of the...

Re: Motorcyclists.....what ya got?

I've a 98 honda transalp 600 that i rebuilt last year. A suzuki sv650s that i was considering selling just due to lack of room and a beta alp 200 which im hoping to use for things like the TET, classic trials and long distance trials. So far i've only ridden it on a normal trial and found it extreme...

Re: Free for collection by bike

Thanks to Ben for the North face Hooded soft shell. Unfortunately it doesn't fit me either. The fit is a bit strange, the arms are good but the torso is both short and tight, i'd almost guess its a womens cut? Anyway i'm happy to pass it on as the same basis if anyone is interested? The gloves seem ...

What model of chain are you using, I thought the mid-higher end ones were stainless?

I've just taken delivery of a big tub of Putoline yesterday.

Re: Coast to coast may/June?

I'd still be up for this but;

1) i need to get some miles in
2) It probably needs to be nearer march/april which doesn't help with 1.

I have just looked at train tickets though and found one mid April for 16.50

20% off at Evans, makes the Arkose D3 under £1000 after topcashback. I'm hoping I can get cyclescheme vouchers in time as I don't really NEED a new bike

Re: 2 wheeled adventure of a different kind.

I spent quite a long while looking at CT90 and CT110's but they were generally old and expensive to get bits for. Moved onto Honda Innova's as they're 125cc fuel injected and have better brakes/suspension. I ended up buying a Beta Alp 200 about a month ago with the intention of doing classic trials/...

I have one but haven't ridden it yet and don't have anything interesting locally to point it down to test, so need to take it somewhere.

Re: MSR Trailshot Woes - fixed?

I've noticed with mine it doesn't like the filter clamp nut done too tight. If I back it off a little it works fine but back it off to far and the filter pops out. So slightly loose with a gentle squeeze to pump works best.

Re: Size up, or down?

I'm 5'10 and have found similar with most brands. The only road bike I've had was a Giant Defy who tend to do intermediate sizes. I was right in the middle of the range and it fit/felt good from the off. I've since moved onto a GT Grade size 56 and even with a dropper (inline post) and a 80mm 25° ri...

Depends what spec the road bike is, how worn it is and how much will transfer to the new frame and forks? I'd probably sell it whole.

I voted no as they just don't appeal to me. I find my 29 x 3 hard enough going at times and have started to down size to 2.6's but after reading your response's and if you think you could move it on without losing to much then there really isn't a lot to lose, and you'll at least get an experience o...
