Re: advice. synthetic bags.

Its actually Ireland next month and then something a bit longer the year after, in the summer as well. I have various down bags, that I use a klimit xframe with. But sometimes if I am sleeping on grass I don't bother with the mat and I sleep ok, using my bivi as protection from the ground. What I am...

advice. synthetic bags.

I will be doing a trip, and due to the climate a light synthetic bag is probably a better option. Does anyone know how heavy the bag needs to be before you don't need a mat to sleep on. Night temperatures are generally 11-12 degrees.

Thanks.

Re: When farm dogs get nasty!

For a working dog a shout of 'wait' would usually be more effective. However it won't as alot of dogs are trained in Welsh, Gaelic or to the whistle.

Re: Some advice sought for Capital Trail type route

Do the second half. If your pushed for time bin glentress. Once your in the pentlands figure out where the best exit is. Don't really see the point in the end stuff in Edinburgh.

The first half ok once you eventually leave Edinburgh. But second half is way better.

Can anyone help me. On trackleaders every thing is in miles except 'route miles' is in km. Does anyone know how to change it from km to miles? Also my elevation map is in km?

Any foot bed that only raises the heal ie not full length, yet must have arch support. For cyclists over the age of 35, one of the first things I would ask would be about achillies problems in the last three months, knee problems Or shin splints. Secondly have you got any new shoes recently and did ...

Have to have them. Ocd. I have put air in a tyre and lost the cap in the dark. Ended up taking the cap off a spare tube.

GAP and trespass used to do baby down snow suits, and North Face does an excellent one as well. Not grow bags but you may want to look into them in the future.

Avoiding water and keeping dry is usually the issue. If you know what you are doing filter is not necessary. If it was really hot I might bring two bottles.......

I am praying I need the second bottle!

She is the one with the issues not you. You were never going to have a satisfactory outcome to your conversation with her. Some people are just like that. Never had this particular problem. Bike 10.5kg. Overnight setup 1.1 to 1.3kg. Rest is estimated. But it is 'the rest' that makes it heavy or light. Repair stuff 800grams to 1kg including tubes. Bags 300g to 700g Lights + electronic stuff probably 300g to 1.2kg Adding in a 400gram coat for extra warmth, flip flops a heavier bag if req...

As I said not the best memory. I thought it was the tarf water and the other couple of tributarys on the south bank that created the weight of water. So anything after the falls was the terrifying bit. And as you said you cross before all that.

It will come back to me in 29 days!

My memory is terrible concerning routes. So someone can correct me. And unfortunately when I attempted the CL I didn't do the last series of climbs to fealar so I cannot comment on that part. I went straight down the tilt. But I should have just done it as it will save me a load of pain in four week...
