Re: What are you listening to now?
I’ve no idea what you were referring to but I did Google Gaye Black, she looks an interesting girl in a ‘F**k off’ tee shirt holding an SG bass :-bd In reference to your post about the thrill of the chase RE: vinyl I’ve a nice story. I was searching for a copy of Television’s ‘Marquee Moon’ no luck,...

Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.
Cheery here, survived (obviously) an exciting 129 mile drive home, which was Interesting. Spent another Friday evening with my son, mainly listening to music. He’s just informed me he spent some of his Christmas money on Talking heads ‘Stop making sense’ I was so impressed I’ve accidentally bought a...

I don’t miss them in the slightest, 500% gear range and oval front ring feels fine.
I think it depends on fitting 1x systems to the right bike, if I had a gravel bike it would be 2x, on the Fargo 1x with a 10-50 and electronic shifting is as close to perfect as I need.

It’s a bit chubby, you could take a hammock and a decent tarp tent and still carry less weight.

I’m with the leave it as it is camp, there’s loads of organised Bikepacking and gravel events but only one WRT. Some people perhaps can’t see the point of no set route, what’s the point if you can’t gauge yourself against other’s performance? There’s always facebook etc for those who desperately nee...

Re: Recommend me some Waterproof trousers like outdry
I’ve two pairs of bike trousers, berghause packlites which have full length zips, great because you can easily put them on without taking everything off. They are good goretex stuff but still like boil in the bag. Then there is Paramo, the only trousers which I’d leave the house in knowing I couldn’t...

Cheery here! Mainly as I still have a full compliment of fingers on my right hand,I was inspecting a piling shackle when the 1" diameter spring loaded pin decided to let go dragging my index finger into the sharp edged location hole. Much hilarity ensued with myself screaming for help and not b...

Re: Gears. Rohloff v Others ?
Hi Tony, I ran hub gears for many years, first an alphine then a rohloff on my bigdummy. After thousands of miles on the BD (including a jogle) I moved the hub onto my ECR, like yours it was faultless throughout. When I got my Fargo it was a bit of a shock, the biggest one was not being able to shif...

Bit of a youthful revival at BDS mansions, the recent addition of a record deck to the west wing and subsequent wallet emptying experience of buying vinyl again means I’ve gone retro, Clash- London calling, Jam- setting sons and now some Stranglers…..

Mild everywhere? When I was in my mid 20’s I worked in an interesting pub, it was run by two gay blokes and possibly by the local hells angles wannabe’s, ‘‘twas also the best music venue for miles. One Saturday night my mates were rocking the place with a Pogues covers band, it’s was absolute mayhem...

Cheery at BDS mansions, have a copious supply of ‘Christmas’ IPA,s and exotic porters on tap, Fela Kuti is playing (can’t knock an artist who has an image of a horned Thatcher on his album cover) AND the postie dropped off a large parcel containing a rather nice turntable
