Bottom Bracket tool

Another 'standards' question... My SRAM DUB bottom bracket has seized up, finding a threaded replacement is easy enough but I now need to buy the corresponding tool since I have only the Hollowtech 2 one. It is 46mm diameter and 24 notches, just as sanity check will this be the correct tool? From wh...

Tip# Add a bit of slack along ease packing.
Thanks for the tip, I guess it’s a balance between being too tight and stuff moving down and bulging out.

Got a few things in mind with this lot but mainly a full frame bag and hoping to turn some old sailcloth into a rucksack. :-bd

Re: Punctures and brakes

Thanks for the replies. Sounds simple enough to keep chucking sealant in.

Tubeless is on the list, and gets pushed higher every time I get a puncture!

Re: Punctures and brakes

Noob tubeless question: Regarding topping up sealant, what happens to the old/dry stuff in there? Do you just keep chucking more in or do you take the tyre off and clean it out?

Re: Bivvy a Month 2021

Putting myself in for this year, my aims are primarily to get through to April (as by the looks of last year most people made it from there to the full 12) and also to tick the Brompton Bikepack Bivvi! January entry was part of the VWE. Following my ride on Saturday I carefully washed the bike so as...

Re: Virtual Winter Event 2021

I headed out to a select few of my nearest GR’s. I planned the route essentially by linking several of my local loops together and really enjoyed ‘turning left instead of the usual right’ at many junctions. No snow in the South Downs but had some wind driven freezing fog which was building up ice on...

If anyone is partial to a bit of [hushed voice] road racing [/hushed voice] then the De Ronde Behind the Scenes videos of the Tour of Flanders over the last four years are rather good. Loads of great footage of the race but also team cars, DSs, commissaries, moto’s and all the commentators and the g...

XTR kit and some bars

XTR front derailleur and double/triple shifter, came off a 10 speed set up. I’m not too clued up on the mounting types but it has two bolts to mount to side facing tapped holes in the frame. I have a spacer/adapter from the Canyon frame it came off which I can include. £50 posted. XTR rear mech, 10 ...

The early books of Bill Tilman describe his trips to the Himalaya (and other ranges) in the early days. Quality stuff and worth a read if you are interested. His book about his time in WW2 fighting with the Italian resistance in the Dolomites is my highlight. I’ve nearly finished all his climbing/mo...
