Re: You get what you pay for...

A pump that connects to your phone ... let's be honest, that has 'shattering disappointment' written all over it right from the start didn't it? We know that 'NEW' doesn't usually mean better it just means different from before and I had you down as cynical enough to know better Craig. BTW, ...

You get what you pay for...

...except when you don't. The premier brands love to push that BS down our throats to justify their stupid pricing. And I'm not claiming cheap is always best - I'm sure we have all fallen foul of the 'bargain' that turned out to be a lemon. But I may have found a brand that is top trumps for taking ...

Re: Fatfighters 2020

As you are all aware, the internet is awash with BS on diet, nutrition, etc. It must be one of the few areas with more crap science than cycling websites! But this guy seems to make sense, and offers some balanced analysis of credible peer reviewed scientific papers. https://www.youtube.com/channel/...

A new record for the TCW East to West? I don't recall the first 5km being on roads, but then it was a long time ago.

Good effort doing it on a 'gravel bike' - although he acknowledges it wasn't the best idea.

Re: Stupid ideas you can't shake.

Do you ever get an idea in your head to do something but a week or two later it's past and you're thinking about something else instead? Do you ever get those that simply refuse to go away? They might not be right at the top of your thinking pile but a little nudge has them skipping to the top and ...

Re: Harness V Cradle help

Apologies for the dull question; I've not used Voile straps before for securing bags on the bike. What size/length do I need to use with a strap-deck cradle to secure 5 and 8 litre size dry-bags? I think 20" works well or 25" if you want the added security wrapping round the bars too. Lon...

Re: Gravel Gearing....again

Amazes me that with all the hype around Shimano Gravel and GRX, they still haven't got a 26-40 range or 28-42 chainset. I really rate Shimano's kit but they're still too far off the mark in this area. Same / similar to Stuart here, XT 28-40 MTB 10s chainset and 11-32 or 11-36 rear (650B wheels). No...

That said, they lost a lot of the wheel market when everyone went tubeless and never really seemed to come back, despite still making good rims (there shoes were crap though....) I thought Mavic were market leaders with tubeless - my first tubeless wheels where Mavic UST, in 2011, and served me wel...

There's a jokey bit at the start when it's explained that the routes guy is a tour guide. I'm not sure how many folk will watch it and want to hire him 😂 Quite! Re: Garmin Edge 530 External Battery Pack

Yes, the bike industry has being doing ‘bespoke’ (=non-compatible) solutions for years to tie-in customers. I did see something on YouTube the other day that a guy had 3D printed to store a small power pack in the steerer tube. Looked very neat. Edit: found it: https://content.playsportsnetwork.com/...

Garmin Edge 530 External Battery Pack

Anybody found an alternative battery pack that fits the Edge 530/830/1030 devices? No way I'm spending north of £100 for the official Garmin branded battery. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Garmin-External-Battery-Pack-Edge-Black/dp/B077C45BGN I know I could just run a standard external power pack (and hav...

Have the organisers not cancelled the event due to the C-19 lockdown? I can't imagine the Italian authorities would be happy if they get wind of it. Will be interested to see how the Tuscany Trail organisers deal with this. If the flights are not cancelled, I will go, but given how things are rapidl...
