Re: What are you reading now?

Currently reading Columbia Es Pasion by Matt Rendell, the story of Colombian pro cyclists with a bit of a history of that country too. An interesting read, but I feel there's quite a lot of unnecessary detail (here are the names and ages of the siblings of a rider that didn't quite make it as a pro...

Re: Bike Abuse, Am I bad?

My ride was so bad today with mud that I swerved via the garage on the way home to use the jet wash (on the low pressure setting)…

First time I’ve had to do that

Re: Which chain lube?

Didn’t realise how bad muc off lube was until I recently switched over to Peatys all conditions (I think that is what it is called - it’s half clear half blue liquid). Night and day difference, impressed with Peatys stuff :-bd

Two on the go at the moment Alistair Humphrey’s Local Basic premise he goes in search of what is local to him in his OS map, bit like an analog veloviewer (and very similar to my OS map colouring project!). One poor chapter so far but was easily skipped but some interesting history stuff in there. W...

No harm done!

I thought the same when I pulled out my summer bike shoes today to wear and they were covered in mud  Would have be been to have cleaned them at some point in the last three months or so

I'll start caring about the environment as soon as big corporations, useless self -serving politicians and pontificating billionaires like Musk, Bezos and Gates actually pull their heads out of their arses and stop hypocritically lecturing normal people about how they're killing the planet! ...

Don’t think trees come quite under wildlife but ventured out today to see an old tree… Question is (I’m either being daft or over thinking it) does it mean the tree is 3500 years old or I’m reading it as it’s a cut off from an older tree, planted there and taken well Think it's just that someone to...

BeSpoked 2024 - Manchester

Just saw BeSpoked is going to Manchester in June ‘24

Always fancied it but never fancied Bristol or London for a day out

Hopefully I’ll be able to keep one of those days free to see it :-bd

There’s some Scandinavian spruce trees that are nearly 10000 years old - I think they’re all a bit trigger’s broom though since just like yew trees they produce a new trunk when one dies off This I didn’t know, I’ll have to look into this trunk thing now :-bd Says parent tree is that old so presuma...

Much more comfortable than the Alpkit bag (only downside is the rab bag is missing a midge net) How is a bivvy bag more comfortable? You may find the RAB is somewhat more 'snug' than the Hunka XL, not much chance of getting a mat inside in my experience - or at least not an air mat. Love owls, think they’re really cute

My daughters favourite teddy is based on that very type of owl you have Stu. She’s owl obsessed, like Bearlegged, she’s done falconry with owls. She also loved the picture!
