Missed this one, stick me down to even up the numbers. But if someone else comes along to make it odd again I think I should be allowed to not get my GR’s from Stu :)

Re: Do you strava?
I use strava shared with a few immediate family. Two buttons to press on my phone at the start of a ride, and two more at the end of the ride. That has the ride and any photos taken during the ride auto transferred across all my kit - laptop, iPad etc. I don’t look at strava whilst riding, and I don...

Re: Do you strava?
If you've ridden five kilometres, that's '5km' ok? It’s klicks in my world. I often switch between miles and klicks for psychological effect when convincing others things are not as bad as they have convinced themselves. Eg- How far to go? 30 miles. (sounds less than 48 klicks) How far have we gone...

Re: What training app?
What computer/tablet/screen are you using? This seems to be a bit of a minefield!! I run the bcool program on a mid range laptop running Windows10. I have a big TVs screen connected to laptop with hdmi. I put the bcool maps/scenery on the tv screen. Bcool is connected to strata, so all trainer ride...

Re: What training app?
Bcool here. I use it just to get something into the legs when I don’t have time for real cycle. They do 30 day trial. Select from famous routes or upload your own gpx. Has training plans as well. I just ride some climbs I’m familiar with in Pyrenees, map on one screen and historical documentaries th...

Re: Wattbike Atom
I bought a trainer for this winter/lockdown, still getting to grips with it. Wanted to keep the legs alive, I tried zwift trial but wasn’t for me - I think it’s good for those who like to race. I’m now on trial of bcool which is more up my street - I can select french col’s I know and get decent (pr...

Re: Time to get revenge on Stuart
I understood this all the way up..... Take the grid ref for your house and Bb towers and calculate the differences in East and North between the two points. Let’s call them dE and dN. Once all 20 grid points that Stu has to visit, just add dE and dN to each of them and you get the exact same ‘route...

Re: Time to get revenge on Stuart
If you wanted to add a twist to this, could figure out the X,Y from BB towers to your home, then apply them to each grid ref and do the same route but translocated.

Re: The sense of excitement.
I've no idea why and really it doesn't matter because things change over time That’s life. A few years ago I got nattering to a bunch of 80+ yr olds in a cafe in the Hebrides, and mentioned my desire to bivy on St Kilda. They advised I did it whilst I could be bothered. I didn’t get it at the time,...

Re: what you wearing on your feet this winter ?
For years my other half and I have had this thing with wellies, she bought a pair of Aigle’s that have lasted 6+ years and I have bought a pair of <10 quid Dunlop’s every year - they always start leaking after about six months. We live rural, use them daily. I gave in this year and bought a pair of ...

Recent articles in scientific journals have suggested we’ve been fortunate with C19 not having mutated much so far, and going on to say that if vaccine roll out is not managed it could lead to pressure for mutations to develop.

Re: os Maps and rights of way
There is a bridleway running NE from Allendale to Broadwell/Whitley chapel, the BW is labelled Briad way on OS maps. The BW runs alongside a track at first, the track then peters out and BW continues. At Hangmans hill the the track returns, but it diverges NNE and becomes the Long drag, where the BW...

Re: Diversity in (road) Cycling report by Andy Edwards
I’m not one for taking offence at such things. One of my earliest memories is being stood behind my mother with a Catholic priest on the doorStep telling her I would be damned if she did not at least get me christened - she didn’t. He was a scary vision, hence the imprint. My mate is also second gen...
