Re: Help Alex - BB200 routes.
2015 for me Stu, but doing the road climb out of Llangynog up the B4391 to meet the bridleway at the top instead of doing that god-awful HaB through the tussucks. :-bd edit, presumably the smaller road to the west of the B road is rideable? Re: What you done t' your bike today
Left it in the back of the car where it's been, covered in sheep sh!te, since wednesday night.
Probably need to swap out most of the drivetrain before the Dales Divide. Probably need to scrub the back of the car out and give it a good dousing in Febreze.

Re: Dirty Reiver advice
I think you'd get round it fine with your baseline fitness tbf Nige. Take your rigid mtb and you shouldn't have to push any of it. Like John says though, let your mate fire off at his own pace once the pack has spread out a bit (will probably take at least an hour) then catch up with him in the pub ...

As Stu said Keep Pedalling is your best shout. If they haven't got the CK ones they've definitely got something that does the same in plastic - I bought one about 18 months ago and it's been solid.

assuming "suffering" is one end, "enjoying" is the other end, and "enduring" is in the middle somewhere ( Type 1, 2 and 3 fun then, n'est-ce pas? Enduring says to me gritting your teeth and getting through it (last few hours of a long ITT perhaps) which adds flavour to...

Looks fine to me Shafiq. Wouldn't change anything at the end - if you need to get to Castleton station that's as good a way as any.

Re: 60ish miles PBW: Long Preston-ish to Rochdale
Here is the route me and Johnnie doing. https://strava.app.link/pL17YGkKKU — PBW Clith2Rochdale I'd stay on the PBW instead of turning off at 59km like you've done there. The road NE of Hebden Bridge that the PBW drops onto is a lot more quiet and pleasant than the one your route follows. Your rout...

Re: Numpty rear mech vs 46T cog question
Andy.. withnout the goat link does it n9t put loads of force/stretch on the mech? Not that I've noticed Mike. Never really thought about it tbf - just banged it on, dialed it in and that's how it's been left. Shifts fine and it's been on there about 12 months. It is a low mileage bike compared with...

We took the inter-city train back from the Tuscany Trail last year, bikes were fine just hung up in the bike spaces. That was the Rome - Florence service operated by TrenItalia who also run Rome - Naples so can't see there being a problem.

That report's a very sad read - nothing really jumps out as an underlying cause or smoking gun, which in turn means there's no significant lessons to learn. A mix of a shitty road a shitty junction (possibly) shitty lighting/visibility on Mike's part (possibly) shitty driving on the driver's part Mo...

Didn't realise it was a requirement. Nobody asked me to show them mine last year. :( I understand there are some doctors in chambers off South King St in central Manchester who will basically sign any piece of paper for a small fee. They do the reports for whiplash claims etc. Might be able to get y...

Did a offroad route around Manchester for someone else on here - it's this https://www.strava.com/routes/15333227
Top end of that is the PBW, bottom end is on the Cheshire canal network which will take you in the direction of Wales at least.

I've got a Rab "Ground Cloth" which I'll occasionally take if I think the grass will be wet or there's rain forecast. Light enough, sturdy and seems to do the job. https://rab.equipment/uk/nylon-ground-cloth It's nice having a dry bit of ground under the tarp just to put stuff on or sit on...

Re: 120 miles PBW: Matlock to Gisburn (kindof)/anyone
You'll be fine staying on the PBW past Uppermill as far as the road bit north of Widdop (here) - that's alll riding fine. Haven't been past that for a while though. It's good trails through that stretch too imo.
