Nice to see we didn't crash the website this year... 🤣
I have a PayPal receipt for October.
Best get the Scandal a larger rear cassette, I don't think a 34T max sprocket is going to be enough....

I've been (re) reading the CyclingUK website this afternoon. https://www.cyclinguk.org/article/campaigns-guide/cycling-on-footpath-trespass https://www.cyclinguk.org/article/cycling-guide/where-can-i-cycle-off-road It seems to come down to that right of reasonable use conundrum, and if you're happy ...

And chuffing heavy too... I could just try the On-One Geoff bars to see how I get on with the sweep, but I think I may need some flex. 🤔

WTD: Surly Moloko Bars

I'm currently running some On-One OG Bars on the Scandal, and I think I need a tadge more back sweep. I've always fancied trying some Surly Moloko's, so just wondering if any of you droogs has one sitting there gathering dust, going spare. Not sure if they'll be for me, or if I need to go full on Jo...

Re: The East Anglian Way

Was considering riding this route at the weekend. Managed to find a GPX online, cause obvs people are going to upload the GPX files they're sent so they can plonk them onto their GPS devices. Started by looking at the bit closest to where I live and 😱... Evidently you have to take a photo of a Cambr...

Re: F U R T H E R East (ish)

I was getting up to my 100 mile target but it was getting late and I was struggling to find a place to stop. Eventually where the Icknield Way joined the road I went through a gate and behind a hedge. It was 1015 and about 104 miles ridden, so 10 hours for the second 50+ miles. The ground was too h...

It's an excellent film. I may or may not have had a little cry
One of the best I've seen in a long time. After watching a YooTube video, they has JLC in a harness, on wires, mental.

Took my son to the cinema to see Everything Everywhere All at Once . Jamie Lee Curtis* (😍) doing Kung Fu, interesting use of sex toys in the fights scenes, profound wisdom, highly recommended. * Pretty sure a stunt double was probably involved for the massive knee led jump down a flight of stairs....

Re: What's your current dream bike?

Back when I had a road bike, triathlon bike and mountain bike, my computer background was a BMC Timemachine. After they all broke and I was bike less, the Open U.P. and 3T Exploro were launched and the Exploro became my dream bike and computer background. I've always wanted a fancy road bike and wou...

I was just looking at the locations and thinking (1) East Lothian and (2) The Pentlands, but couldn't quite pin them down. I was thinking Fife for #1... Yup - looking west and upstream to the bridge. Dalgety bay beach I think (although it's not glowing in the dark...) Nah, that bit of the beach is ...

If Sonder made a Broken Road with a Pinion Gates Drive, rigid carbon forks and carbon Jones bars I could be seriously tempted. Pretty sure they'd stick some rigid forks on it if you asked... https://alpkit.com/products/sonder-broken-road-pinion https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0253/1626/1993/produ...

Did you know that only 4 of this years top 10 TD bikes are running drops? Course you did because you wouldn't really expect anything different but I bet there'll be a few surprised in the wider world  I was more surprised to see from various articles, and reading Trep's report, the number of ...

A "poke" of chips? Not heard that before or is it some weird auto-correct? It doesn't translate particularly well when you get yer chips in a box. But when they're wrapped up in newspaper, like they were when you were a kid, they're a poke... https://www.scotsman.com/news/15-words-have-di...

Worsted Street Roman Road, which essentially links Cambridge and Haverhill. It's a restricted byway, so all off road, although not the longest by any stretch.

Re: My WRT

The final morning dawned, as did the realisation that I hadn't refilled my water bladder since Aberystwyth the previous afternoon; no wonder I was feeling slightly dehydrated. With everything packed away, and a massive flapjack shovelled in as breakfast, I headed back down to the gravel track. Rathe...

Re: Substitute for chamois creme

I've been using Chamois Butt'r® for the last wee while. Comes in a big tube, but as other have said, I just squirt a load into an old 35mm film canister. I find it lasts fine up to and around 200KM, then it's heat/sweat dependant. On my recent F U R T H E R East trip, I was slathering it on so often...

Re: My WRT

I woke up early, as I tend to do these days, to the sound of the rain still hammering down on the tent. I ignored the bladder, turned over, and had another doze. By the sounds of things, it had stopped raining when I next regained consciousness, but as I lay there contemplating getting up to soaking...

Re: My WRT

After an OK sleep, there was no real rush to get up and out of The Wynnstay. So I took my time to pack all my bags and make sure everything was 100% charged and ready to go. I got shouted at by Pauline for being in the way as she tried to deposit more breakfasts into the dinning room, one of the per...
