Re: Bivvy a Month 2024
I find that despite the fact I wake 4 or 5 times a night and sometimes cannot get back to sleep I am never tired the day after.. No idea why the disturbed sleep does not affect meI've found it's the disturbed sleep that does it. Like having a mid-week night shift

Re: Have tarps lost their popularity?
Would not want to, it looks a sub standard choiceYou wouldn't get a tent in there, no matter how small.
Imdeed both options have advatages and disadvatages but pretty sure I will.always find a spot for my tent in the countryside (.as you could bivvy or hammock)

Re: Have tarps lost their popularity?
A tent does not need toutilise them as its actually waterproof and the footprimt size of my trekker stealth will be smaller than most tarps

Re: Have tarps lost their popularity?
My opinion is the UK is a bit wet so a tent is a must have and not really much weight penalty over tarp+ bivvy Trekker stealth is 770 g but outer and a bora gets to about 600. Tarps are more versatile but also require more skill so more likely to take if its more about csmping than travelling. I use...

Tomorrow was always my aim but looks like its the sweet spot between terrential rain and storm force winds as its just a bit damp and a bit windy . Storms have been relentless since about december ( think there may have been a week off )

Re: What's your single best item you own for camping?
Going with the theme of not essential but jhandy its a thermarest air bed pump.
Put it on to slowly inflate bed whilst i sort out tent / dry bags.
If essential ( it is at my age ) its the thermarest air bed. Lightweight and good for all year round use and comfy enough.
