Re: Convert 2 x 10 to 1 x10?
Some "interesting" replies. So much more to consider than I'd initially realised; the effect on my virility definitely wasn't on my radar  You can also get longer b screws. So, by winding in the longer b screw it pushes the mech back enough so the top jockey wheel clears the larger sp...

Convert 2 x 10 to 1 x10?
After seeing the recent links to the sunrace and shimano wide ratio 10 sp casettes it's got me thinking about doing a conversion to 1 x 10. I was thinking about going with s 11-42 shimano. My bike currently has a Shimano RD-M615 rear mech which I assume propably wasn't deisgned for for 42t cog but w...

Think I'm going to hold off on this one and will wait until they release the tweed version designed especially for the urban wilderness.

Cheeky monkey said it first, burn him!
Don't waste your time searching any of my posts, there are no racks, baskets or panniers to be seen. I don't own a seat post rack either, that's just a vicious rumor

Re: Another supplier extending their range
What is this site coming to with all this talk of racks, Carradice and the like. That kind of behavior can only come to no good, if it carries on I fear someone may use the P word!

Ok. Despite working in IT, I don't do social media so it's not something I'd considered. I'll have a nose. Thanks.

Re: Fear?
Had very scarey moment on the Cairngorms Loop last year whilst bivvying at Bynack lodge ruins. After a nice relaxing evening we climbed into our bivvy bags and fell sound asleep until about 1.30am we were woken by the most horrendous noise. There were about 20 voices shouting and laughing. Felt very...

Re: Morocco for Christmas?
I've riden there in Novemebr and it was bl**dy hot during the day. Cold at night though.
We were in the Atlas mountains and did a mixture of camping and guest houses.
Loved it :)

Genesis beta sizing?
My duckduckgofoo has failed me. Anybody know anything about the sizing for the Genesis Beta. It's a childs bike btw. What's the difference between the road and the cx, is it just the tyres, drivetrain and colour? My daughter is ready for the next bike and this looks spot on. Shes 156cm tall and has ...

Thanks for all the info
They'll just have to sit in the parts bin until I find a sensible use for them.
Bum!
I think you're right! Doesn't seem any point having to change anything / everything else just to get the levers to work.I think you're goosed.

Shimano 10sp road mtb compatibility
I've been offered a pair of Tiagra 10sp brifters which I was hoping to use on my Shimano 10sp mtb drivetrain.
A quick duckduckgo suggests 10sp mtb and road gear is not compatibile :(
Is there any way to bodge it? Maybe a jtek type widget, a sram rear mech or bailer twine perhaps?

I remember those days! Kids + TLS does not compute! Teddies, Capol, pens & paper, large sleeping bag, etc, etc, etc http://i.imgur.com/1dSltr5.jpg Daughter was 7 here I think. Perfectly capable of riding but not able to cover the distance hence the tow bar. We'd been 'touring' with it from age 5...

Re: Backing up photos using a Raspberry Pi
Worth checking that your phone supports USB OTG (On The Go), should do these days but you never know. Worth reading the reviews too. Don't expect to be able to connect USB devices and charge simultaneously, many devices or the adapters don't seem to support that. If you get one with a USB A socket y...

Re: Backing up photos using a Raspberry Pi
Ingenious use if your pi but I have to say, I'd be very nervous of deleting my valuable photos without being able to confirm they'd successfully transfered first. Will you be taking a smart phone? If so you could transfer them to the phone or your usb drive with a usb otg adapter. That way you can c...

Re: OT inflatable kayaks
I've got a Sevy Colorado and it's great. It's not a kayak but if you accept that it is what it is and it serves your need then it's a great bit of kit. Had mine for about 6 years with no problems what so ever. I got it as an alterative to a sot as I didn't have the storage or access at the time. It'...
