Re: Impulse buy proves tricky.

I'd would say that looks very neat if it weren't for the fact the one BTWIN logo is facing forward whilst to other is facing aft. Not sure I can handle that

Re: Braunton 150

Stayed there a couple of times. Once in the campervan and last time arriving by bike with tent. The usual shower blocks (tidy), children's play area, no club house. I believe the is a food "shack". They were very helpful last time I went.
Easy short stroll into The village.

Re: Dirt drops?

I've used mtb shifters with road levers on a couple of bikes and I quite like the setup. Yes you have to shift your hand to change gear but that's never bothered me. You have to remove some material from the shifter collar to get it to fit but it's easy to do with a dremmel This is my do it all bike...

Re: Dirt drops?

Are you sticking with your current levers to reuse existing kit or is there a particular reason you don't want to use road levers?

Re: Sorry about the down-time.

Glad you're back up and running. Glad you keep backups too, would be very annoying if we had to retype all the tripe we've keyed in over the years. In the meantime I had to read stf :| Although it did lead me off to a thread about some bloke's garage. http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.ph...

Yes it's quite incredible what a difference it makes in a large bunch. Used to ride at Ilton airfield on race train evenings and if you got dropped from the bunch it was game over. The bunch is so much faster it practically impossible to get back on again. Great feeling riding in a big bunch at spee...

Re: New to bike packing

It's difficult when you are going to double up the kit you are carrying. I take my daughter on multi day (4~5) trips carrying her stuff and a 2 man tent too. There's no way I can ever get all our stuff in the usual bar, saddle and frame bag set up. Her sleeping bag is the biggest issue as it's prett...

Re: The post man's been ...

Initial impressions are quite good. Build and materials kind of reminds me of altura bags.

It's not lightweight @ 460g.

There's no rear light loop which would be handy.

I have an airlok taper too so I'll give that a go.

May try a get a photo of it fitted.

Re: Do we have a nice route? N-S across Dartmoor?

Just worked out how to import Duncan''s route into viewranger on my phone. So have had a chance to take a look. I've done that almost exact same route from south zeal to Postbridge. In fact I've just found the gpx too. Si is right there is a lot of clod hopping from hangingstone hill. My route basic...

I think it uses an accelerometer in conjunction with dynamic cropping of an oversized frame.

For the money it certainly seems to pack a lot in.

Not had a chance to play yet so time will tell
