I think she did a good job with that Yep, it showed all of the various highs and lows of the event and lets people know what they are letting themselves into. Also, she finished which is a good achievement based on it being someones first attempt and some of the other comments earlier on this threa...

Re: BB200 2020
I also feel that a lot of people make it harder for themselves, thinking that 24 hours is the target, underestimating how hard that is, and then bail when it seems unachievable.
If people set off with the mindset to just complete the route, there would be a lot more finishers.

I don't want to put the kibosh on it but the forecast for this coming weekend looks quite good (light rain, sunny intervals, & gentle breeze) plus the water levels in streams drop off quite quickly in the area  Looking at the long term forecast, the longer people delay it the drier it sho...

Half of the "fun" is not knowing what you're going to find en-route.
Going to suggest that any ride reports are left until November?
(potential safety issues aside)

I doubt it’ll make much difference to assuming a 10kph average moving speed.

To be fair, she doesn’t
It’s the guy in the video who says that number.
17 hours is probably the time that the likes of Mr Large, Booth, Barrington, .... would have been a good benchmark for finishing the route in.

It’ll be interesting to see the entry/start/finish rates at the end of the month, given it’s been open entry this year.

Re: Improving Bikepacking
Moving to Scotland or somewhere were I might have half a leg to stand on! But out of all the the nights we’ve all had out, how many instances have we been asked to move on? I’m suggesting it few/nil instances from the 1,000’s of nights we’ve collectively had out. Just say you’re Mike from Bromsgrov...

Re: Lamina to Alpkit bag choices
Bang for buck seems to lean toward the Alpkit offerings. Specifically, the Sky-high 500 at a similar weight to the Lamina, but a limt of -4*c, and cost of around £150. Question is, is this really an upgrade or a sideways step? Sideways Look at the comfort rating rather than limit rating. Comfort is...

Re: Etrex 30 mapping not loading
Turning off and on again seems to fix it. The maps are on the Micro SD card. Anyone else had this before? Wondering if it's the card or the contacts? Is worthwhile having a second card with the maps on as a backup? Now and again. Usually just take the card out, give it a wipe and put it back in and...

How do you mean fella? A bit difficult to say really. Unsure who its aimed at, and felt its been a bit overhyped. Probably a case that its a way to link up two Cities, rather than it being a good collection of trails. Just seemed it was a case of zig-zagging around on the road to pick up the odd bi...

I rode this last week, with some others who it was their first multi-day bikepacking trip. We hired a one way van up to Glasgow to save on the hassle of the train, and between the 3 of us it wasnt overly expensive for the extra convenience. The weather didnt particularity help but my thoughts of the...

Anyone thinking of making it (assuming that the Zombie Apocalypse v2.0 doesn't stop everything again)??? I have an entry. Im not sure though. I think there is a lot of positives and negatives about from the UK. I fancy the riding, dont fancy the travelling to and from the start and finish at all. F...

Just having a look at the email asking for payment.
Cant grumble at €2 each
Is it just easier to get them delivered directly as doubting its worth the additional effort of having you mess about with coordinating them Duncan?
