FS Bikepack fuel tank and wheel dishing tool
Couple of things that aren't getting used and need to go. Bikepack Fuel Tank http://www.bikepack.eu/category/framebags/fueltank In good used condition, used a good few times but both of my offroad bikes now have seat tube braces so this needs to go to fund a cutaway version. £12 posted https://farm5...

Re: Today in the barn.
Not yet Paul but still on the cards. I shall make you some and you can try / test them if you like? Would love to. :-bd but also have the special lid to go on a camelbak podium bottle (but I've yet to use it) I use Podium bottles but didn't know they existed, thanks. Looks like it might be a two-ha...

Re: Today in the barn.
Took a bit of searching but I wasn't dreaming, this thread does exist... Having been out on the Monstercrosser yesterday riding Dorset and Wiltshire's muddiest drove roads, I find myself dreaming of some bottle s*** deflectors so I don't have to keep relocating my bottle into my back pocket, resort ...

Hey Guys, What do you CX guys ride on things like the YD200/YD300/BB200 etc? Cheers. 22 x 28 https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DHps_SAXgAMrQJT.jpg (yes, this is a dropbar bike, just with some decent tyre clearances) Seriously, if you're racing cross a 44 single ring might be ok, but go way smaller if you...

Ditto, have you only just found out about this?! My waitrose card has been an essential audax item for years. In the North too; we stopped at Hexham waitrose (I think) on day 2 of the Pennines 1000km audax last year purely for free coffee.

Re: Isle of Arran
I was there for a week last August and did a few of the Arran bike club routes; they were good but not very technical so potentially just the job for a 12 year old? If I went again I think I'd take the monstercrosser / a CX bike on which I could ride pretty much everything I rode offroad plus, as de...

I'm in. Shame about the 2" tyre limit as I have a drop bar Karate Monkey built and ready to go...'cept it has 2.2" Ikons on it. More quiche than niche.

Another vote for 2.4 Ardents. Unfortunately, you'll need to find your inner Southener as its worth paying extra for the EXO sidewall version. If you're looking for a bargain the On One Chunky Monkey 2.4 is big (supposedly on the same carcass as the Ardent) and when the deal comes up can be less than...

Re: quote for a future t-shirt?
I'd quite like a bike-related t-shirt with a quote from a bjork song: "Curling up inside my private tortures, I nestle into pain, Hug suffering, Caress every ache" Or how about final the lyric from Vatican Broadside by Half Man Half Biscuit with "Stuart" instead of Slipknot? :win...

Re: The SR/SR series, 2017
The biggest time saver I've found on audaxes is 'going alpine' carrying almost all your food for an entire ride. Eat when you want, no sitting about. Not very social but good for solo days out. All rides to be a fair test of what can be done in the time limits - ie hilly is better than flat and mixe...

Re: Veloviewer map - explorer tiles
Road riding, offroading riding, what's the difference? In my experience, about 10mph. I didn't say there was anything wrong with it. I just said I'd be more impressed if it was offroad. Get over this idea that roadies are somehow a lower class of cyclists. I live in the south of England, where they...

There's a bit of negativity floating around on this thread. Somebody has devised a new game and there's a set of rules. Why bash people for playing the game without breaking those rules? Road riding, offroading riding, what's the difference? Driving to the start of a ride, why a problem? I've never ...

...what do you guys do when you can't train (or ride) to stop yourself going a bit nuts? Running? Sufficiently hard to be like training. Apologies if it's been mentioned already (this thread is already a bit TL:DR) but Conotrane bed sore cream is what you need. Convenient 100ml tube, £1.20 ish from Boots, designed to prevent / ease pressure sores. Apply 'liberally' before a day ride, and whenever else it's funny to be seen with your ...

Second time round the official event for me, although as it goes within 500yrds of my house I ride different parts of it all the time. Couple of mates (including Chris n) joining in so I'm doing the guiding to the good pubs slightly off route

If I'm getting 64+ spokes then the German sites are usually cheapest even with a few quid international postage.

The Boost spacing would likely make it a no-go for me, simply as it'd involve new wheels Agree with this. At this price it became of interest as a f&f I could chuck some parts box parts onto and leave in Scotland for the few weeks a year I'm working up there. But boost = new rear hub = probably...

TBH I think I've seen a pic of your CX bike that's more roadie than the LHT above.

Good work Will. 200km next? I'm doing some ad-hoc audaxing this year to tie in with some other stuff that requires actual 'training'. Planning at least the local 200, 300 and 600 but busy Gravel Dashing on the weekend of the 400, so might ride it as a perm in August. Got my sights on the Ultra Rando...
