Re: My GPS connundrum

Ok ace. I need to find out if the Etrex has that recharge facility or not. That may well change how it works out for me.

I will do a little more research.

Thanks for your help so far

Re: My GPS connundrum

Im quite happy to charge a powerbank as i ride for longer trips, or just a 2nd set of batteries for shorter adventures. I had heard that the Etrex will take a NiMh battery pack, or normal NiMh batteries as long as you depress a tiny switch inside 'fooling' the unit into thinking it has the Garmin re...

My GPS connundrum

Ive got more and more into longer rides and events and im really enjoying myself. I have used a rigid mtb and a grevel bike for several multiday trips. I have an SP dynamo hub that fits either bike, and i also have battery packs. So far so good. I have a Garmin edge 810 that has just died. I can get...

Re: Dynamo front light with daytime charging

Thanks guys, i will check these out. I like the velocharger but i get the impression it isnt super efficient as it doesnt charge until you are moving quite quickly.

Dynamo front light with daytime charging

I have an SP hub that i currently use to charge a battery pack or a rechargeable front lamp, so i can have a reserve of power for my phone and garmin etc. I use a velocharge (i think) and a 5000MAh powerpack. However id like to get a dynamo powered light for the front, and a port so i could charge a...

Re: Power only mini usb for Garmin charging

ok, after some replies it appears im talking nonsense. My 810 charges with the bespoke garmin lead and when i unplug it, it tells me it will power down in 15sec. so it seems i can deal with that!

Power only mini usb for Garmin charging

Im trying to source a mini usb power only lead for my Garmin Edge 810, so i can supply power to it from a powerbank, without it stopping to nav and record. I cant find one on ebay, they all have some data sync function, which stops the 810 recording. Can anyone recommend one from a UK supplier? than...

Re: Comparison....

Ref the 100g gas canisters for the jetboil et al....i bought a brass adapter from ebay that allows you to refill one of these canisters, so you can put as much gas in as you want.

Granted you still have the volume of the canister to store, but you can def go lighter weight if you want to.

Borrowing someones route from Strava

Im happy to nav myself around, but sometimes i want to just ride my bike and be told by my Garmin where to turn off etc so i can just follow a track.

Is it possible i can borrow routes that others have done on strava? if so, how?

thanks
