Re: How good are Gorilla Clips?

I have a set on my suspension forks. Had their first big outing on a recent 5 week long trip over rough terrain. Didn't budge a millimeter.
Dan has them as well but he has the forks with the braze ons. Can hold 1.5 l bottle of water in each.

Couscous with home grown and dehydrated vegetables.
And I've put the recipe together if you care to read. Takes 5 minutes to prepare and no dirty pots.

The bearded guy, Mr Lumbosexual didn't look to me as he'd had anything done during his beard management experience. Pretty good documentary and explained a lot.

If you can manage a little bit of Arabic too, that goes a really long way. We're getting better at that, but it's not classic Arabic. Haven't learnt any Berber though.

Re: "career breaks" or as I'd prefer to call it- buggering o

I didn't do it to go off on a bike, but I did it back in 2009. Quit good job, gave (very nice) car away and cleared off sailing for 13 months. Only had a few grand to do it and when I finally arrived in England I was jobless, homeless and penniless and happier than I'd been in years. Since then I ch...

Re: Todays ride

Sunday actually. Only 10 miles along the route where Dan took me on our first ride along the Hamble to Manor Farm. The first time, I thought it was a killer; too far, too many hills, too bumpy and on Sunday it was perfect for a wee stretch of the legs. Oh how time changes one's outlook.

Re: 2017 Winter Event - Entries Open.

From the post, "Just like the WRT, the winter event doesn't have a fixed route but unlike the WRT it does have a fixed destination(s) which gives each event its unique name … how you reach it is down to you. We'll give you a few grid references to point you in the right direction." This is...

I'm thinking about this and wonder what 'destination' means. Is it a place where everyone meets up at night or something else?

Used framebag

Say you were going to buy a used framebag, would you want it to look as clean and shiny as a new one or would you prefer to have a bag that looks like you've been bikepacking for yonks?

P.S. Dan just got a new one.

I'm happy mixing things up - a bit of sleeping outdoors a bit of indoors. I usually sleep well when I'm outside, but there are occasions I don't and it can sap the morale and enthusiasm for doing it immediately thereafter. Gairy, it's my belief that whatever works for you is fine as long as you enjo...

Purely an observation and not directed toward anyone ... It's funny, at times you can almost sense the disbelief when people realise that when you say, you don't take much, that you actually don't take much  Sometimes it feels like people are looking for excuses and reasons to take more, rath...

Re: Off topic: A BearBones lifestyle and minimalism.

I was 42 when I realised that 'stuff' was unfulfilling. I moved to a two-roomed (not two bedrooms) cottage in the country and gave away or sold anything that didn't fit in my house Just over a year later, I quit my job and got rid of everything else and set off on a sailing trip which lasted 13 mont...
