Re: Moors One Hundred

For reasons of unbelievable tedium I will now not be able to attend next weekend. I have informed the organisers but my name is still down on the 130 entrance list - so if anyone wants to pretend to be me for the weekend please pm. Please be aware to carry off the full "me" effect you will...

Multiday (more than 2 nights) Adventures

My maximum so far is 2 nights - any tips before I venture out for 6 nights on foreign soil?

Clean padded pants, teeth cleaning, sun creme, mozi repellent and washing have not been a consideration before now!

Re: The Traversée du Massif Vosgien, Alsace, France

Given up trying to train it, in a day, with a bike so driving to Strasbourg. Given pistonbrokes caution on weather can anyone recommend a large waterproof jacket that packs tiny? I have a howies one that packs up to pub peanut packet size but wouldn’t fancy it’s chances for a week of soggy duties Th...

Help - Dales 100

Hi all hope you can help me overcome a moment of madness. I am sure I entered an event called something like Dales 100 that was organised by 3 friends over two days with a communal bivvy on the saturday night, it was also limited to 100 entrance. I am also sure I saw that I got in. However I now can...

The Traversée du Massif Vosgien, Alsace, France

Anyone on here been? I have a week free in mid July and was all set to go and explore the Lake District, which i have never done, however after reading a thread on a much less well informed forum I read about the Vosges mountains and found the attached route below which sounds like a real adventure....

Re: Luxe Sil Hex Peak - opinions?

I bought the 6 version which I think is the same as the 4 but with a larger inner. Haven’t used in anger but pitched up for a trial and to smear in silicone (I think it is call Sean sealing). Very happy with it and might buy the 4 inner as well for a larger porch area. If you go to page 4 of general...

Re: Bivvy a month 2018.

3/4 The NDW Edition A diary mess up in march meant BAM never happened so I was determined to get April's in early and make it a bit more of a local adventure rather than my usual bear minimum effort in order to BAM qualify. For a change I was organised and desperately wanted to try my new Exped mat ...

Bar Bag Lifter

Help please I am struggling with my new bike to load the handle bar bag. https://i.imgur.com/IK6uheL.jpg Hopefully the image shows the problem - the pack is rubbing on the front wheel going over the lumpy stuff. Has anyone come up with a solution to lift the bar bag/harness? Options include; TLS; st...

Re: Bivvy a month 2018.

2/2 The Leith Hill Edition As usual last minute dot com to squeeze a bivvy in before the end of Feb. Unusually, I got a lift to Dorking and set off from there rather than treking through suburbia on the way my from house. This meant I had time to have a pint at the Plough on my up to Leith Hil, but ...

New Tent - BEAR WITH ME

I am now a full paid up tarp member and love my bicycle 3.5 and 7 however I would like to take my 3 year old daughter bike camping and we are slightly worried about her escaping from under the tarp whilst I sleep. I think a lightweight tent that can zip her in might be the solution. Lighter and larg...

Re: How to inspire "Microadventures" - NOT

Dave Barter living the dream Great film Dave. I agree with Stu more reality footage with dry (v wet)backing comentry required. how about accompanying low moment footage with BAM submissions. The breakages, wrong turns, terrible weather, scary tractors, bugs, turds and sleep depreciation are the best...

Re: Loaded bike weight

Cutting down on the water may work but I returned home empty and apart from muddy puddles I did not see any source to refill on my BAM trip. This is th...

Can you lift your fully laden winter bikepacking set up over a locked gate without stripping off your luggage?

I can’t - am I doing it wrong?

Thanks
