Can stoves

Just made my first ever brew on a can stove, and am now sitting drinking it and feeling smug. Used the instructions on the OutdoorsMagic site last week and made a double-wall burner out of two Carlsberg cans, finally got round to buying some meths today and have just run a brew through. Needs some r...

Won't be an overnight, but taking the singlespeed for a lap of my local trails - Meanwood, Harewood and the Emmerdale set area.

Re: Watershed dry bags

That's for the full camera kit and dividers etc! They're about £65 for just the bag*, which is pretty expensive I admit. But, short of a Peli case (which won't fit in my kayak), nowt comes close for expensive electronic gear protection on the water. I'm not sure anyone'd buy one just because it fits...

Re: Flat pedals ... anyone else?

I know there's the power difference, but aside from that I just don't feel confident on flats. Just bought a new singlespeed that came with flatties - decent-ish Wellgo ones - and didn't have a chance to switch them before the first ride. All the way round the loop I just felt rubbish with them: les...

Watershed dry bags

Just a wee observation... Faffing around last night trying to sort kit positioning on my SS and realised that the Watershed dry bag I use for my camera kit when kayaking makes an almost perfect waterproof bar bag! If you've not seen the Watershed bags, they're duffle-type bags with double closure, i...

Re: Winter sleeping bag ... suggestions please.

Depending on availability, Alpkit Pipedream. I've got the PD600 and it's light, warm and was about £125 IIRC.

Re: Packs

What about the Inov8 race pro and race elite packs. I've had the Pro 22 and Elite 15 for a fair while and love them both. Light, born out of MM, AR and multisport, sturdy and pretty good value. I thought nothing would have replaced my Macpac Amp 25 when it got nicked, but the Pro 22 is doing a good ...

Re: Your last or next purchase?

Got the Ti Blaze stove the other day, next on the list would be a decent tarp - have a decent bivvy bag (old Pheonix Phoxhole) but not tarped up yet.

Re: PSA: 50% off Hi-Gear

They do deliver (sorry!)
Just picked up a Blaze for £17.50. It's 50% off full price, not card holder price, but that still makes the Intensity just £7.50. And having just looked at it next to the much more expensive Pocket Rocket, there's near-as-dammit no difference between the two!

Go Outdoors have got 50% off all Hi-Gear kit until Sunday, including the Intensity (100gm) and Blaze (50gm titanium!) gas stoves.

Just thought you should know... :)
