Re: Smart watch / Fitness tracker recommendations?

+3 for the Instinct. I've tried Polar, Microsoft, and a dodgy Chinese GPS watch in the past. Instinct is by far the best. I'd have gone for the solar if I had the money, but the standard version holds charge for over a week with 2 or 3 activities, or much longer if you only use it for sports.

Montane Terra Trousers (large regular)

Fantastic quality. Good for walking or cycling (as they have ankle poppers). Fit someone with a 34-36" waist and 32-34" inside leg. Cost £85 new. Used but showing only minimal signs of wear (because I've hardly worn them!). I bought to walk up mountains but I live in Surrey and apart from ...

Re: WTD: WOHO bag stabilizer

I think the chap who posted it said that he used it with a seat pack but not the bottles (as the mounts are facing the wrong way). I wondering if some careful heating and twisting could bend the ends 90ish degrees outwards to essentially replicate the WOHO one. For £9.99 I was thinking of having a go.

Re: Hello and mat questions

Hello from another southerner. I'm in Farnham so on the KAW also. :-bd I have an uninsulated Moutnain Warehouse  air mat for summer and a 20 year old Thermarest for the other three months. Quite fancy a Synmat but never got around to buying one. The MW mat has been better than my old Alpkit N...

Re: Very OT - no poo

No 'poo here. I stopped at uni 25 years ago when I had fairly long hair. Started when I had a few years doing manual work, then stopped again when i return to the office. So long as you thoroughly 'wash' it through with water everyday then you'll be fine. Also don't use styling product. I wash mine ...

Re: Simplifying the garage. What shall I keep?

I think a cull is what I need. I'll probbably stick the gravel/tourer up for sale soonish but keep the full suss until after my yearly South Down Way trundle and then clean it up and get it sparkly for a new owner. That will leave me with a big travel full suss for days in the mountains and my lovel...

Re: Simplifying the garage. What shall I keep?

On the subject of long covid I've been struggling since April 2020 but really thought I was fixed about 2 months ago when it felt like a pop in my chest and my back pain went Instantly while out jogging, ive recently ran 2 hardmoors events and the 3peaks only steady but I felt OK, but yesterday whi...

Simplifying the garage. What shall I keep?

I've decided after 16 months of struggling with long-covid, that is triggered to a certain degree by stress, I need to simplify my life a little. One of the needlessly complicated things I have going on is maintaining 4 bikes when in reality I only need two (or possibly three....). But I really don'...

Re: 3LW - problems?

Interestingly I had to call an ambulance yesterday. I was in central London though, so maybe things are ...

Re: That there Decathlon Riverside.

Still enjoying mine. I think the review is fair. The head angle can make it a bit twitchy. I've never noticed an issue with the BB drop. I like the bars. I've swapped the tyres for some Hutchinson Toureg 700x45 which roll a bit better. I put a cheap under seat lever dropper on it which helps on the ...

Re: Clothing cockup

Well if it's any consolation I can barely keep my eyes open today after a very chilly night. I seriously underestimated how cold the ground was. I took an uninsulated sleeping matt to save space/weight over my Thermarest and spent the night feeling all my heat draining into mother earth. Eventually ...
